Granite Flat in American Fork Canyon is a beautiful campground, well-maintained with friendly camp hosts who provide helpful service. I love this Hidden Treasure camp site! In fact, they should rename #57 & #58 to Hidden treasure camp spots. It is a hike in so a foldable wagon is a must or lots of kids/pack mules! The site is well hidden away from the road. That means you do have to walk to the potty, but no problem with little ones with that foldable wagon. You also see lots of deer and other wild life. The fire pit was awesome, but bring a shovel to clean it out before and after use. The table, well bring a table cloth and one for the benches. The tent spot was perfect for our 10 man tent and had plenty of space to walk all around it. I will be back next year Granite Flats, thank you for making the camping experience awesome! The camp host Cheryl was very friendly and helpful, she even gave my kids a treats! Thanks again! I highly recommend this hidden treasure!

We used Stone Mason, one of the group sites at Granite Flat and arrived around 2:30 for an evening Family reunion. We used a couple of pop up shade canopies because the sun angle makes this site pretty hot during the mid-day hours. The site is set between to streams so you you get good air flow and the kids love playing in steam. The site is surounding by large conifer and other deciduous trees and is adjacent to a large field with ball diamonds and horse shoe pits.
I continually heard this place is beutiful from all of my relatives.

I have no real complaints about the campgrounds, there were plenty of water spigots and the grounds were well maintained. The hosts that were there during my trip in July of 2021 were very pleasant and helpful (I believe they were the Hansen's). However, the UTV's and side by sides that travel up the road to Silver Lake Reservoir are so extremely loud it really ruins the ambiance of camping. People start heading up to Silver Lake as early as 6 am and they don't stop until after dark. All you can hear throughout the entire campground is the roaring engines of UTV's and other recreational vehicles during the day going up that road. It was so loud that I, unfortunately, will never go back to this campground.
