Timpooneke campground is praised for its stunning views, clean facilities, and friendly hosts who take great pride in maintaining the site. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, especially those with yurts, and the opportunities for hiking and enjoying nature. However, some noise from nearby roads and vehicles can be disruptive during the night, which may affect the overall camping experience.

The most beautiful, underrated camping in the USA, period! Gorgeous views, world class hiking, shade in the trees durning the day, and cool evenings. Clean; so clean, especially the bathrooms. The host couple are friendly and helpful, and clearly take great pride in the camp grounds. Brother Brigham got it wrong, because THIS is the place!

This is a beautiful place, right next to a small creek. It’s actually a double site, even though the website doesn’t say that. It can hold up to 16 people and it comes with 2 paid parking spaces. You can easily fit more than 2 cars. That said, we put our tent in the parking area because there wasn’t room for a big tent elsewhere. The parking area for this site is big though. It also has 2 picnic tables, a fire pit, a metal bbq stand for Dutch oven cooking, and of course the yurt. It’s really fantastic! There is a water spigot next to the wood port-a-potty.
The only drawback (and it’s a big one) is that you hear cars for several hours every night. It’s people who miss the turn into the parking lot for the Mount Timp hike. They turn around right where the camp is when they realize they missed the turn. It was like this from about 11pm-1am every night. Cars going by and people shouting to other people in the cars which way to go. It really made it so we couldn’t sleep well. It was a 3-day weekend so I’m sure it was worse than normal but it was definitely annoying. It was bad enough that we will look for a different place next time we want to camp up AF canyon.

Clean campground in a beautiful setting. Campground hosts are fantastic.
Only drawback is the last two times I've been here, kids racing their motorcycles around the surrounding fire road in the evening really takes away from the peaceful setting.

It was gorgeous and we even saw a moose with some big ol' antlers 🫎! I was sad the water wasn't higher but what are you gonna do about that🤷🏽♀️ overall had a lovely time. there is quite a slope so maybe not the best site for little kids although mine did just fine.

This is such a well maintained campground! The bathrooms were so big and so clean. Hosts were really kind and came to our camp site to greet us. We will be back!

Excellent site but ATVs will be zipping around late at night and in the morning. I wish they would designate another area for them to be or have the hours they can be ridden between 8am-9pm.

Our family had a wonderful time in the two Timpooneke sites we love the most, 29 and 30. The yurts and the bathroom were clean and the beds very comfortable. The food was great, campfire fun as usual as were the some'mores.

Other than the noise from the hikers near the trail head. We liked the spot
