What Guests Are Saying

Altamont offers a beautiful camping experience with stunning mountain views and a well-maintained pavilion for shade and shelter from the elements. The site is spacious, accommodating both tents and travel trailers, and features clean flush toilets and friendly camp hosts. While noise from the nearby Alpine Loop Road can be disruptive at night, the overall atmosphere is enjoyable, with opportunities for hiking and wildlife sightings, making it a highly recommended destination for groups.

Just 12 minutes up the canyon from Timpanogos Cave National monument hike. The view of the mountain is gorgeous. The Pavillion was such a nice protection from the July summer sun and the rain showers we had each day. Location was perfect for our few travel trailers as well as plenty of spots for our tents to set up. Highly recommend and hope to be back in the future.

The views are beautiful, and the pavilion is awesome. The flush toilets are a big plus and were always very clean. The camp hosts were amazing. The only complaint is that the site is surrounded by the Alpine Loop Road, which was very loud and busy. Even from 1 AM to 5 AM, the road was very busy; there were very loud motorbikes and lots of loud timp hiking groups all through the early morning hours, which made sleeping in tents difficult. For our friends who had camping trailers, they had no complaints about the noise.

This is an excellent camp spot for a large group. Plenty of sites for tents and for trailers. Bathrooms were clean and the site was well cared for. Close to the Scout Falls hike which was also a plus! We saw deer and enjoyed hearing lots of birds each morning. Highly recommend.

Amazing place to camp! Quiet, secluded, plenty of flat areas to lay a tent. Huge parking lot, huge pavilion. One large camp fire pit, two large charcoal grills. Everything was great for our large party. The hosts are nice and kept the bathrooms nicely stocked. It was great having flush toilets and running water. Also close to the river so the kids could play in it. It’s shallow. Plenty of shady spots to place your tent too. Not too far into the canyon, so some of our elderly went back home to sleep. Only 20 min drive to Cascade Springs too. Seriously will be using this place again.

The drinking water was not available for a day and a half. Other than that it was wonderful.
