What Guests Are Saying
Altamont offers a beautiful camping experience with stunning mountain views and a well-maintained pavilion for shade and shelter from the elements. The site is spacious, accommodating both tents and travel trailers, and features clean flush toilets and friendly camp hosts. While noise from the nearby Alpine Loop Road can be disruptive at night, the overall atmosphere is enjoyable, with opportunities for hiking and wildlife sightings, making it a highly recommended destination for groups.

This campground is in high demand for a good reason. The views are beautiful and there's no better place to enjoy the outdoors this close to Utah County! We had a wedding reception here and it was perfect! Just remember to bring a generator if you're going to need electricity. Friends from out-of-state loved the canyon so much that they're coming back later to chase waterfalls in the county. Arches who? Never heard of her!
The hosts were just a short drive up the road and were very helpful. Great stay!

Beautiful area with a wheelchair accessible pavilion. The pavilion is large, It has a fire pit right in the center, so it can be used even in a heavy rain. There are two large grilling areas and a big stand for dutch oven cooking. There are hiking trails and a small river a short walk away. While we were there we saw moose. The area feels private because it is gated off from the rest of the public area. The bathrooms were clean and even had flush toilets. The campsite is close enough to plan trips to Timpanogos Cave or Cascade Springs.
