The location was great and the previous guests did a decent job of making sure they cleaned up.

Brought more than I needed, didn’t know what to bring. Thought I might have to heat the place using the cast iron stove. Never used it. The propane heater was plenty for out time of year. Night time lows in mid 40’s. Day time highs in low 70’s. Just brought bedding but plenty of it. No bags but would’ve been okay. I loved the ambiance of having a nice quilt and good well blanket with flannel sheets. Slept comfortable. Should have looked at the window closer, there was a screen to open the window when it got a little humid. But we were in and out often enough that the open doors fixed that. A couple of extra lanterns (battery) where there to supplement ours. Saved us from carrying the lanterns around. Out house was best I’ve been in, and just the right distance away. Plenty of cattle around the mountain this time of year, but fencing kept them all out. No problem with other people, only passing traffic on the road and loud boomer 4x4’s and large diesel engines the only ones e could hear but not a distraction. Cabin well maintained by guests and staff. No problems with anything. Looking forward to stay again. Lived in Richfield for a while while in high school and then after military, been up there many times and often passed by the guard station, thinking it would be cool to stay there. Dream come true.

I don’t want to say too much because I want it to be available for us next year. Unless you are looking for a posh retreat, you will not be disappointed. The leaves were life changing.

Amazing spot to stay. Beautiful views the outhouse was the cleanest one we have ever seen. It had everything needed for a long stay. There is no phone service which to us was an added bonus. Was nice to reset and unplug for the week. Defiantly will be returning in the future
