Campground is nice and quiet. So it was , except last day we had a group of 10 people nearby, not so quiet. I think some people come to national parks for celebrations, nos so much for nature.
Services at the campgroung are fine, but there is no showers, you can find just out of the Park limits, in town.
The host campground was very friendy and helpfull, so the volunteers we found. Thanks to them.

Such a GREAT place to stay. Will most definitely be back, very easy to find and easy set up. Bathrooms are close by and the stars at night are amazing. We had great neighbors and everyone was respectful in the early mornings as we all packed up to go and explore Zion!

5 stars for location, but the campsite itself needs clearer directions for what to do for washing dishes, clothes, etc other than just signs of where not to do it. Otherwise, the bathrooms were clean, they had soap, and you can't beat being RIGHT there in Zion. It's hard to get stakes in the ground, and the campers next to me were loud and had a super bright light on past 10pm. Woulda been nice to fall asleep to the sound of the Virgin river instead, which I was about 50 ft from <3. It's gorgeous, and you can easily be one of the first on any trail, taking the shuttle or biking.
Also, showers were very expensive $4 for 5 minutes

Difficult rating to give. Stay was at end of a trip and Zion was by far the hottest location (which is to be expected given the relatively low elevation in SW Utah desert). South Campground is partially closed for some work. Many of local trees are either dead or have lots of dead parts, so there goes the shade and the wind break. We did get some shade late afternoon. Camping in summer in the desert is not ideal.
On the other hand, we enjoyed the Narrows hike and saw the area. Having views of the Watchman and the Sentinel is pretty cool. Deer wandering through the campsites give the place character. Lots to see in Zion and the various sites are impressive in their own right. The shuttle system works pretty well and keeps traffic out of the parking lots at the various stops.
Closing door on the restroom was tricky (you had to push frame wider), but there were enough stalls for the volume of use. I've been other places where you have to wait in line first thing in the morning. Other guests were quiet and noise was not an issue. I know other reviews have complained about camp hosts, but we found them friendly.

Can easily walk to visitor center and outfitters (that has showers) so you don't have to exit and re-enter the park. Half the campground is closed. Lots of dead trees marked for removal.

Stayed three nights at Zion South CG as my home base for a biking and hiking getaway to the canyon. CG is well located along the Pa’rus Trail which served as a northward connector to the Scenic Drive via bicycle, and a southward connector to the visitor center, Zion Village, and Springdale for shuttles, showers, and shopping/meals. Campsite had beautiful views of nearby peaks and a calming sonic flow from the Virgin River. Bike rides to breakfast in Springdale were mostly downhill so you can wake up and coast, fuel up, and have an easy pedal back to the park. 10/10 will stay here again.

The site had adequate space for 4 separate tents with plenty of shade. Close to the bathrooms and water. The river is a few hundred meters away for fun and relaxation. Overall, I would recommend.

There is a need for enforcement and a better posting throughout the camp of quiet hours. Nearby campers reunited over twenty people from multiple campsites and were loud until 11:45 at night. Additionally, some campers were setting up their tents around midnight. It is tough to sleep while people are hammering in their stakes. The campground hosts did not do their jobs well in this area. People just go to their sites after making online reservations. At the Grand Canyon Mather campgrounds, rangers went over the rules as you had to officiallycheck in.
Additionally, there was mismanagement in regards to the the campground rehabilitation project. Multiple teams were using their chainsaws as early as 8:15 am. It is rather unpleasant to have park personal moving in and out of your campsite and using chainsaws a mere ten yards from your tent. Campers deserve at least a warning the night before. It would have been better to close campsites where chainsaw activity would take place.
Overall, it is a great camping area but needs better management. Many sites have shade and easy access to the Visitor Center. The Narrows and the hike to Scout Lookout are amazing.
