What Guests Are Saying
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Chincoteague Island offers a cute campground with friendly staff, clean facilities, and a fun water park. However, recent experiences have highlighted issues such as poor customer service, limited activities for children, and cleanliness concerns, particularly with the bathhouses. Overall, while the location and amenities have potential, improvements are needed in service and maintenance for a more enjoyable stay.

We have gone to this campground for 5 hrs and have never had an issue. We went this year and it was the worst experience we have ever had camping. We met the new property manger director, and her customer service is absolutely awful. They had a storm two days before our arrival and the camp ground flooded. No problem you can't predict the weather, the issue we had was when we arrived they had given our spot thst we paid for away, they stated we can choose a site that we wanted and gave us 4 locations to choose from. We picked our site and set it up, the next day the new property manger director came to our site and told we had to move, OK no problem so she showed us some sites she wanted to move us too, problem is those sites had open sewage coming up from the ground on the entire site. She stated that they would put down gravel over top of the feces and toilet paper so we could park our rv there. I explained absolutely not that is not sanitary they knew those sites has overflowing with feces and they were doing a quick cover up to keep those lot occupied. What they should of done is cleaned the site throughly before putting families in that spot. We refused to move our spot they let us have, they told us we had to leave the park entirely i called USA EPA to make a report them. Please be careful taking your children to this location due to the feces all over the campground and how they cover it up with just gravel.

Chincoteague is a nice area, and most of the staff is friendly, but that's the best I got. Checked in on Wednesday and didn't see Yogi until Friday night. Several arcade games were broken for the entire trip, jumping pillow was broken for the entire trip, pergola swings advertised on the site were gone, playground seemed better for toddlers then other children, activities were minimal and not that great of a selection. I think it's crazy to spend the money we spend to stay at the campground for it to have bare minimum activities for children and now we have to pay extra for some of the activities like slime, glow gadgets for the hayride, treasure chest, tattoos and glitter shakers. We were excited for the outdoor movie and skipped the Pirate Lore walking tour for it to be a bust! It was supposed to start at 5 and after waiting 45 minutes the staff couldn't get it to work so the event was canceled and nothing was offered to us guests who sat and waited for nothing. I think it's ridiculous how early the arcade and store close as well. Our first night they closed at 6 pm and the rest of the nights at 8 pm. With having bare minimum activities/things for children to do, the arcade would be better to be fully functional and stay open later. Water park only has the slides and lazy river, which is only so entertaining, and the one day the slides were not running so all you had was the lazy river 🫠 Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be returning to this location unless the campground is fixed and there are more activities for children.

We rented the RV thru them and the camp ground is cute . The front desk people are absolutely amazing . The location is good , it has a water park on site . Very cute park
Few things that were upsetting is the beds in RV ..it is lso thin it’s not even a mattress , just a cloth on wood and husband and I woke up 10 times throughout the night in. It is excruciating to sleep on
The dishes were dirty many ants , no towels or wash clothes were left . They said they have internet , they do not . To unwind to fall asleep , we wanted to watch our shows and stream but you can’t bc they don’t have WiFi as advertised. There is no awning that comes out of the side of the rv as told . Floors and windows hadn’t been cleaned
Also my daughter had been talking about the bounce pillow since
We booked and when we got here , there was none. It had popped
Doors don’t lock well .
Those were the disappointing things.
The disadvantages is there is not any really good food places to eat at . Just average food at best . And mostly food trucks (that’s not the campground fault )
We were going to cook out but there is not a local store very close, to walk to .
The pros were .. cute campground
Clean large camp restrooms and showers
Friendly and attentive staff .
Everyone is super nice
The city is very quaint
Pool and water park are fun
Activities to do daily

Stayed there with family the week of 6/14/26, with my husband in an Island Bungalow. Best thing about the place is the location. No checking in even a minute early without paying the fee so basically the whole first day starts after 4pm for the cabins, 3pm for the campsites. Bathhouse not exactly “steps away” which is fine, except at 3am, so will not be getting this accommodation again. By Thursday, both the women’s and men’s bathhouses were disgusting. The crowds started pouring in on Thursday, those bathrooms should have been cleaned at least twice a day but went a few days early in the week with no cleaning at all and then only once per day through Saturday. Unacceptable. I let them know at the desk on Wednesday that the bathroom was gross and she said “I’ll make a note of it but housekeeping is gone for the day” I think they were gone ALL day. The showers need some work, just update the hardware if you’re not going to fix them. Also, early in the week they had one person for both the check-in desk and the camp store, so had quite the wait to buy anything. They were also out of firewood until Tuesday but because of that we discovered the store on the right of the circle sells it for less, def buy it there. Had a great time at Maui Jacks on Friday, which was the worst weather day but it wasn’t open all week until then and we were leaving Saturday so had no choice, had no notice that it was closed until we arrived. Overall not horrible, but service feels uncaring once they get your money and the state of the bathhouses are what’s sticking with me, we will get a hotel or Airbnb next time we stay in Chincoteague.

Rooms are campsites. As far as they go. Clean and nice. They are small as are all private for.profit campgrounds. The waterpark is only open on weekends until mid june. It we would have known that on top of the " no dogs on the beach in the national sea shore" we probably would not have chose this area for a vacation. We are probably comparing this to our normal beach vacation spot "first landing statepark" but 6 out of 10 is all I can muster when 1st landing is an easy 10 out of 10. The mosquitos up here are ... holy crap bad and I just got back from northern Ontario... these are way worse. The camp ground cant control this but for an honest review I have to share it. The water park is nice! The camp ground is nice! Services being 2 stars are due to the lacknof advertising the limited schedule at the water park.
