Salthouse Branch Campground is nestled on the shores of Philpott Lake in the rugged foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. The park is located in a rural and sparsely populated part of Franklin County near the small community of Henry. Philpott Lake's clear water and natural shoreline make it a unique place for visitors to enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking and camping. We were in site 5, the dumpsters were awful anytime we were outside at our site, you should think about moving them away from the campers!

I always have a good time here and this experience was no exception. Good facilities and campsites. The holiday crowd had mostly filtered out by Sunday so it wasn't too crowded. I always have a great time out on the water. Ranger Dillon was exceptionally friendly and helpful during my stay. I greatly appreciate him!

We love camping at Salthouse Branch.
Attendants were nice and friendly, sites were clean and flat. Our only complaint is the cell service is terrible.

Nice stay except for barking dogs. One couple let their dogs bark constantly without doing anything about it. Someone screamed at them and they finally shut them up. I chose not to camp with dogs because of this. I shouldn’t have to listen to someone else’s dog.
