Wood is pricy, 21 dollars for two bundles, bring your own USDA inspected wood. Fill up your water at visitor center before getting into campground, no where to get your RV to fill up. Showers are 5 dollars for 10 minutes. We wanted to stay an extra day, plenty of people left early and there were open sites and it was frustrating we couldn't because people don't check out or cancel reservations. There is no refunds, the NPS could drive extra revenue by being able to rent those sites out to those who would be there to use them too.

Great campground! Bathrooms were clean and plentiful, and there was even a little camp store with necessities. We enjoyed hiking in the park and visiting the Shenandoah valley (caverns, rafting) as well.

Enjoyable weekend. Clean facilities. Beautiful view from site. Only “issue” was that potable water sources were not in operation.

Wonderful campground! We didn’t have the best weather but the tree cover kept rain at bay. The trail access from the campground is awesome, we just walked from our site. Highly recommend for everyone!

It's always a positive experience at Big Meadows. Firewood is always available at the store and the bathrooms always clean. There're many trails to explore both within walking distance and by car. I recommend Lewis falls for the view, and Bearfence for those who like rock scrambles with great views.

Bathrooms were clean & well maintained.
Showers were indeed 10 minutes for $5, long enough for a couple to shower.
$10 plus for a small bundle of wood? Steep!

Gorgeous view in the spring of the ridge before the leaves come in! Right off the AT in a very secluded part of the campground. Only issue is there aren’t any flat places to put your tent on the grass, only the gravel near the bear box.
