Very nice spot for camping, specially for parents with young kids, for whom accept to bathroom is critical :)

Campground, park and amenities are awesome! Other campers around were not awesome. Other campers were not respectful of quiet hours or respectful of campsite privacy.

The recent paving is a great improvement. The sites are reasonably spread out and are a great jumping off point for adventures.
Only frustrating thing sr dealt with were tent campers setting up their tents right next to the water, it made it awkward getting water the few times we needed it.

Large campground, well equipped with potable water and dump station. Well paved (newly paved) roads throughout. Nice to walk the Meadows across the way and a quick drive to Hawksbill peak hike.
Get a blackberry milkshake at the Wayside

Even though there was a paving project while we were there it was still a good stay. Moves required for the project were handled smoothly. I was disappointed to learn that the campground will be concessionaire operated beginning next year. The move from NPS operated to concessionaire is never a good move in my opinion. National parks should not be privatized and made into “for profit” operations. That is exactly what happens when concessionaires enter the national park picture. Park employees care about the park and the visitor experience. Concessionaires care about profit margin. It’s as simple as that.

Great location for camping and it is close to the visitor center and store. Moreover, there is a shower facility. This is not the first time we visited here.

The walk-to sites are the best for a more private, true camping feel. Everything is well-maintained, the rangers are super helpful, and the campground has excellent proximity to great hikes and a fun night sky program. We also like having some of our meals at the lodge, which you can drive or walk to, to cut down on campsite prep/dishes, and because they have a lovely great room and sometimes live music.
