The park ranger was super helpful and accommodating to us two old AT section hikers.

Big Meadows was great! Clean bathrooms with running water and showers which were so needed after long hikes. The showers were $5 for 10 minutes but the water warmed up immediately and the shower was great! The actual campground was a little rocky, but it wasn’t too hard to find a good spot to pitch the tent. We had an amazing time!

Surprisingly nice campground bathrooms. Sites are a little bit open so not much seclusion

Wonderful park, dark hollow falls is a great spot just a couple minutes away from Big Meadows.
The official Big Meadows campsites are a little close together, and RVs running generators takes away from the natural beauty of the place, but everything was well maintained and there were nice facilities available.
My only complaint is the picture of an orange clown on my national park pass.

I really enjoyed my tent camping experience at Big Meadows Campground. The walk-up site (#22) was tucked away far enough to feel private but close enough to the car / parking area to be convenient. Facilities were well-maintained, staff was friendly and helpful, and the hikes were lovely. I will warn, poor cell service to no cell service in the campsite. However, I got a few bars at the overlooks on skyline drive just minutes away from the campground. This is my second time at this campsite, and I've enjoyed my time in both experiences!

Overall the campground is good, but the sites are definitely not equal, so check pictures or YouTube carefully. We did have excellent support to switch sites due to wash out. Thank you to our co-New Yorker camp hosts and our Ranger!

Enjoyed the proximity to the bathrooms. Good mix of sun and shade. Had good (not great) cell service, T-Mobile. Service was effective to take a couple work calls.

Loved the hot showers. Best five dollars ever spent after a hot nine mile hike!
