Our site was flat and had some screening on one side.
Bathrooms were marginal... out of order stall, moderately clean. Very good hiking from campground including Dark Hollow and along AT.
Coin operated showers were $5 for 10 minutes, couldn't do a shorter amount of time, and water was Luke warm at best.
Very good location and a quiet night.

Our time at Big Meadows was excellent. We like the simplicity of the sites - no electric or water hookups - and the cleanliness of the bathrooms and entire campground. Camping above the clouds was amazing, though do be prepared for a big temperature drop overnight. We hiked several of the trails around the campground, including down to Dark Hollow falls which were stunning. We also recommend going to up to Blackrock overlook which is a 10-minute walk from Big Meadows Lodge (separate from the campground). Finally, good camp store with lots of firewood, though pricey at $10/bundle.
