This is a wonderful place to camp It is isolated and rustic but the facilities were cared for and the staff was helpful We were able to leave our small RV for 3 days and walk to trails we wanted to hike

Check-in was easy, the staff were friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of them. Just a great campground all around!

As always a great experience. We stop here when ever in the area. Feels like camping should be.
Do wish they had the budget to better maintain the park. Doing well with what they have.

Very nice and quiet campground. It’s huge! It was completely full when I was there, but it still wasn’t too loud or crowded feeling. From behind my campsite I could watch mother and baby deer grazing in the forest. The only complaint I have is that the showers cost $5 for 10 minutes (taking only quarters) and there is only 1 shower house at the very entrance of the campground. From my campsite it was a solid 10 minute walk to the shower house. The lodge up the road had good breakfast.

This was an amazing experience. Since there is parking for tent only camp sites hence it provide a little less privacy.

Shenandoah is a beautiful park & definitely will visit again. Big Meadows is very popular & busy but most folks observe the campground rules. Went during the off season, so it can become too crowded. Coin showers were hot & clean. Bathrooms were well maintained. Thankful for the bear box at our site. Amazing trails up to the mountain tops which we saw maybe 10 other people if that. Other hikers said they usually see upwards of 100 people on popular trails so we narrowly escaped very busy trails. Overall, loved the park & views but the amount of people at the campground will probably have us exploring other campsite options that are less crowded.

I had a great time camping at big meadows. The rangers were awesome! I called prior to making the reservation and the person I spoke to was helpful in what areas to stay and helped me with all of my questions. I stayed in the A area and there’s absolutely no privacy at all. It’s a wide open spaces and close proximity to the next camp site. It was noisy and many campers didn’t follow quiet time policy. The camp grounds were clean and most of all I felt safe.
The shower was clean and pretty good water pressure. Totally worth it. It is $5 - quarters. I enjoyed all the trails and excellent views. Thank you.
