A101 site has a lot of car traffic that goes by it. They definitely need to not let people in the campground after 10pm. It was quite ridiculous how many people were getting there late and setting up camp late at night. No bear box and there were bears outside our tent every night but food was in car.

This site had an area large enough for our 6 person tent. There is a significant slope to the bottom of the driveway and wouldn’t be good for an RV. This site is next to the host site. It’s very easy walking distance to 2 different bathrooms. Close to the registration station and camp store. Bathrooms are clean, showers are $5 for 10 minutes. Close to several trails. Bear box was big enough for our 55 gal cooler.

The campground was very nice. The staff were very helpful in picking our spot for our class B van.

Absolutely beautiful location! Everything was laid out and easy to understand. We had plenty of space and were able to find our way around easily. This is going to be a new family favorite spot!

We stayed in site 52, which was a “walk to” site. It was not hard to get to and was perfectly tucked away and private HOWEVER it was connected to the AT and we had upwards of 20 ppl walk THRU our campsite while we were there - it felt intrusive and constant despite us asking folks not to walk thru the middle of the site and blocking the little path with a cairn and log.
Overall Big Meadows very nice, nice bathrooms and showers etc but I would not stay in site 52 again.

Nice, low key campground in Shenandoah National Park. We found it the perfect place to rest after a long day of hiking and sight seeing.
