Big Meadows and the entire park are beautiful and well-kept. Rangers and other campers are friendly. My service dog and I had a wonderful time!

The rangers were great, addressing my complaint about an RV running a generator overnight, which was loud and in violation of the campground rules. Compared to other stays at campgrounds in Shenandoah, I did not like having to pick a campsite in advance, as the sites varied in quality. I did not ask if it was possible to change once I arrived. Having a shower available was nice and the water was plenty hot. But, the $5 cost seemed excessive, given the campsites are not dirt cheap. It took me 20 minutes to figure out how the shower worked too. Some clear instructions on the wall would be helpful. Hiking & running the Appalachian Trail was my reason for staying at Big Meadows and the convenience of having the trail run right next to the campground was invaluable.

We have camped at Big Meadows twice and really enjoy it. We’ve only been able to stay one night both times, so we’d like to stay a few days and explore the area more. The sites are small but nice. Showers were pay only. Bathrooms were clean but there wasn’t a place to hang your toiletry bag or towel, so that took some juggling.

Not listed online when showers are no longer in use. we got there and were not able to access them and the website only says seasonal. Nice clean camping spaces and loved having the fire pit.

Registering at the front desk was seamless, and I was given clear instructions to find my campsite. The site itself was clean and met my needs; there was even a buck munching on bushes several yards away. Bathrooms were clean, well-stocked, and heated. The trail was pretty and moderately difficult.

Every year my high school friends like to get together for a weekend camping trip. we usually go during the summer to various rivers around the area, but we chose Big Meadows this year.
It was a total of 4 of us. We had two 3-person tents, one large tent and a hammock and we had plenty of room. This is a great campsite and had a great time. Bathroom is a quick walk. Two of us had T-Mobile and we had 2-5 bars 5G, fwiw

Despite the campground being very busy, full of campers, the views and wild life presence were phenomenal!! Bathrooms I visited were always clean. The store was well equipped with the basics even tho late in the season
