We were there in early November. The weather was cold so there were not as many people in the park as I imagine there is other times of the year. The camping area was easy to maneuver and park. The facilities were clean. We hiked a few trails and went for a couple of drives while there. It’s a beautiful part of the country. We also visited the visitors center at Big Meadows which was informative of the history of the park and well done. As in most national parks, souvenirs and such were obscenely overpriced. We did not participate in any of the ranger programs but it looked like they have quite a selection of activities for families.

We were a little worried about going during the shutdown but Shenandoah has it on lock! Everything was clean and the campsites were monitored. Great time!

Site was perfect. Other than some brisk and windy nights, everything was great. Actually plan to return in a few weeks.

We loved the location. It was great having access to a restaurant nearby since it was cold when we were there. Loved seeing the wildlife in the camping area. Highly recommend.

Staff was incredibly friendly. Everything you could need is at the camp store. Neighbors were respectful. Beautiful campground and close to the best spots along Skyline Drive.

We have camped at Big Meadows for years. It is in need of serious repairs. The roads are too narrow and full of holes, the edges are terrible for RVs. The bushes around the sites have enclosed many sites into an unsafe feeling of being able to be dragged into the bushes, where did the grass and open spaces go?

We camp at Big Meadows every year. Our kids love unplugging and hanging out in hammocks, biking around the campground and hiking. For a short easy hike with a great view walk up to the Black Rock overlook next to Big Meadows Lodge.
