This is our second time here and it was great like always!!! Love the quiet hours and the fact that bathrooms are close no matter where you stay!

The Rangers make the experience special. Without them it wouldn’t be the same. Courteous, Helpful, and Friendly always greeted with smile.

We loved this campground! Our site E 173 was tucked away in a serene corner, and the Appalachian Trail runs right past it. The campground is well maintained, the bathrooms clean, and the evening ranger talk was informative and fun.
We very much enjoyed our visit!

The site was flat, tent stakes went in great, the bear proof food box worked great, the fire pit was full good shape, easy setup, the camp was quiet, friendly staff, bathrooms were accessible and really clean, the lodge bar had live music and good food, the trails were well marked and had great views. We had a great time.

Rain was an issue but the campground was great. Heated bathrooms with hot water were a Godsend in the rain!

Their pristine campgrounds had nice amounts of trees and shrubs between the sites. The bear boxes were huge! But careful not to keep chocolate in there because it will melt in the summer. We did not know that you needed 20 quarters for a 10 min shower, but they did have change machines that take $1 and $5 - so bring small bills or quarters!
Our favorite hike was Stony Man trail but stay on the Appellation Trail when it branches off. It's the road less traveled but still has stunning views. We hiked the Rose River Trail which was beautiful with 2 miles along side falls but very rough trail with lots of rocks and roots and 900+ ft elevation gain.
Our favorite watering hole was the Skyland lodge's outdoor patio (dog friendly and had a bar or two of cell service for Verizon). The lodge has a Starbucks in the lobby and a wonderful gift shop.
So many great overlooks, but we really enjoyed the Point Vista overlook just south of Big Meadows Visitor Center.

Wonderful landscapes, wonderful sites and close to the Appalachian trail. A place to see. And they have recycling bins so they encourage to avoid waste.

My favorite place to camp. Whether solo or with my partner, I always have a great time. The sites are shady and pleasant, lots of hiking nearby, the meadow is amazing, and the lodge is great to hang out when the weather is less than perfect.
