Easily one of my favorite campgrounds in the US. Clean restrooms, tent sites are well maintained, many rental locations available. Great for solo campers or families. Great if you plan ahead or rent last minute.

Stayed here to go to Old Rag early in the morning. Great sunset views!

As always, Shenandoah is a beautiful place. The $5.00 showers for 10 minutes are ridiculous. Back to 5 minutes and half the price please.

Ranger was extremely helpful. She realized we were between group sites and relocated us. FYI the store in campground is mostly backpacker-related because of proximity to A.T. Plenty of firewood was available. Stores at the B.M. Wayside and visitor center have more touristy things as well as snacks, warm clothes, etc.

Everything was great, mowed, roads have been updated and repaved. Toilets and sinks clean. Would be nice if deep sinks were updated to stainless, because the sinks are used to wash dishes and utensils.

Campground was very clean and easy to navigate, camp store being close and having everything you’d need was a great help, location in the park is great as you can reach most parts very easily, very peaceful and relaxing stay

The campsite was clean and fairly private. The shade was especially appreciated due to the high temperatures during our visit. We enjoyed a ranger program the first night and bought firewood on site. We would definitely recommend this campground!

We had a very nice place.
Note, that E loop is the exit for all further loops, so comparably high traffic.
All driveways and tarmacs seemed freshly renewed.
Showers are quite expensive (5$ in quarters for 10 minutes).
Nice hikes starting directly at the campground.

Best place ever to camp (and we camp A LOT!). Site 183 was perfect and so is site 180 but you really can't go wrong at any campsite in Big Meadows. 5 stars!
