If you are looking for the perfect getaway on the water, look no further than Rappahannock River Campground. This spot offers the ideal blend of natural beauty and a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere.

The Gold Standard of Hospitality
What truly sets this place apart is the owner, Eric. He is absolutely awesome and goes above and beyond to make sure every guest has a great stay. Whether you need help navigating the river, getting settled into your site, or just looking for a friendly conversation, Eric’s passion for the campground and the river really shines through. It’s rare to find an owner so hands-on and dedicated to the guest experience.

Adventure on the Rappahannock
The location is unbeatable for anyone who loves the water. The access to the river is fantastic, making it a breeze to set out for a day of:
• Kayaking and Canoeing: The stretches of river nearby are beautiful and well-managed.
• Tubing: A perfect way to spend a summer afternoon.
• Fishing: Plenty of great spots to cast a line right from the banks or your boat.
A Clean and Scenic Escape
The campground itself is well-kept, offering a peaceful environment that lets you truly unplug. The sites are spacious, and the views of the river at sunset are worth the trip alone. It’s a fantastic environment for families, groups, or solo adventurers looking for a clean, safe, and fun outdoor experience.

Bottom Line: Between the beautiful scenery and Eric’s incredible hospitality, this is easily a five-star destination. I can’t recommend it enough!

Breathtakingly beautiful! Back to the old days when camping meant tents and families, not motorhomes and generators. Service was amazing, the reservation system and check in was perfect, they knew us by name as we pulled up! River was clean and activities fun. Tube for the hour or the day, canoe or kayak…or just sit and breathe. Highly recommend!

Expect primitive! Rock fire ring, with no overhanging grill. No plot to set a tent, so you'll just have to figure it out. My site 31a was not very level but it was close to the bathrooms and a water spigot.

The river was awesome!! Tubing was a lot of fun although hardly any rapids. It was a good time to drink "spicy water".

I recommend doing farm trip at Sassys Party Ponies across the street. Sassy and her kids were great hosts for us girls to pet a bunch of animals and learn a lot about them

We've been here for the last 4 years in a row. Camping and tubing. Staff and Eric have always been kind and polite!
Grateful for the care they take of the campers!
Remember y'all, they're a family sharing their home not a big corporation.

4 stars for 4 reasons

1. This place was pretty awesome! Huge camp grounds and we had the place to ourselves that day.

2. We barely got bite by mosquitos! So that’s nice.

3. Tubing is 25 dollars and you can finish it under an hour. Slow if you let the river take you.

4. Showers were nice during the day time at night, it’s a bit scary.

Minus one star for 2 reasons

1. The bathroom by the campsite smelled horrendous! So bad!

2. When we reached the end of tubing we waited over 30 mins to get picked up! They forgot about us.
