Shenandoah Valley Campground

This place is amazing for kids and adults. It's pet friendly. The people working there are so kind. Bring your own tent or RV or rent a cabin or a RV from them. My family has gone there twice. It's the best.

We really liked this campground and how peaceful it was. (Minus the children riding and cutting across campsites and roads recklessly on electric bikes) My children loved feeding the bunnies and playing in the waterfall. Issues we had were at booking nowhere stated online that gas golfcarts werent allowed and we towed ours over 4hrs for a extended weekend, to see a sign stating no gas golf carts. Walking from campsite to the waterfall or to the amenities would be especially hard with our toddler. (Even big campgrounds like jellystone allow these golf carts for a small daily fee 😒🙃) I would gladly pay a fee to be able to bring family back again in the future.
But unfortunately we will not be able to come back and will be looking for a alternative campground in the area in a few months.
Sites are very very small. Even with our small hybrid camper we didnt have a whole lot of space.
Alot of updates need to be made as well including the bridge by the fishing pond, kiddie pool was dirty, old tore down playground needed cleaned up.

Overall it was a decent campground especially for the age. I just wish it lived up more to the recommendations I received before our stay.

12/27/2025, We stayed for (2) nights. Site #3, FHU, 30Amps. Sites are close together. Our site was just long enough, but I had to un-hitch to fit. We were able to squeezed in the truck and a 2nd car on the site. The site was wooded, level with gravel. The roads to the campground were challenging. Very windy, narrow and hilly! When we arrived at our site, we were greeted by a bunch of free-range rabbits as soon as we got out of our car. They were very friendly. T-Mobile was only 4G LTE and could support only (1) streaming device, maybe. But I connected to the campground Wi-Fi and that was fast! Other reviewers mentioned that the Wi-Fi was spotty at best. So I think is was that we were close to the office and no one else was there. I paid $145.57 for two nights ($62.00 +$15.00 Booking Fee + Campspot Fee $4.17 + Tax). The campground is in a valley and along the Middle river. It's quite a large campground too. Plenty of amenities, but nothing was open while we were here. I would stay again, just that the roads were challenging to get there from I-81!

I want to give this campground 4.5 stars. My husband, dog and I stayed here arriving on a Wednesday and leaving on Friday. Conveniently located off I 81 just a little north of Staunton, Va. We have a 37 ft motor home with a tow vehicle. Our site was pull thru, level, with electric, water, and cable. Our site did not have sewer so we used the dump station. Beautiful campground located along a river with a waterfall. Like most campgrounds, there is a section of seasonal sites. We did not use any of the facilities since our visit was short. The camp store did carry co-ax cable. Lots of rabbits everywhere! Definitely would stay here again!

Listen yall I know a lot of people are going to be concerned about the bunnies. I was too. They're obviously domestic bunnies and so it's very valid to be concerned that they aren't going to do well living outside like they are at this campsite. I'M HERE TO ASSURE YOU FIRSTHAND THE BUNNIES ARE ABSOLUTELY FINE! They are all well fed, they have shiny coats with no matting, no one has any eye discharge or sniffles, and they're obviously relaxed as they flop right out in the open. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it myself, but the bunnies all seem to know where their 'territory' is and are being well cared for within that range. I've had bunnies before, I know how fragile and easily stressed they are, and I'm here to reassure anyone else who might be concerned that these are indeed happy and healthy buns.
