Perfect Spot for Day Trips & Peaceful Camping
Saddle Dam Park at Yale Lake is absolutely beautiful — from the crystal-clear water to the scenic mountain backdrop, it’s a perfect nature escape. The picnic areas are shaded, the grounds are clean, and there’s easy access to the lake for swimming or just relaxing by the shore.

We camped nearby and it was a great experience — quiet at night, plenty of space, and the lake views in the morning were incredible. Whether you’re planning a day trip or a weekend getaway, this spot is ideal for both. Only about an hour’s drive and totally worth it.

My favorite place. Here you can have a barbecue. There are tables in the open air and under a roof. There is also fishing and kayaking or boating. You can also swim. There is a toilet and shower.

Awesome and Gorgeous. The weather was perfect and the water was very nice and actually fairly warm. Week days are great as the boat ramps, parking and water not packed with boats and people.

The water is nice. Beautiful views. Nice little beach. Nice picnic area.

This is not the best entry to Yale Lake if you’re looking to picnic or hang, but it is THE preferred spot for paddling and kayaking. Less crowds, less boats (and waves)—plus an amazing view of Mt. St. Helens that is less obstructed than at other parts of Yale. Recommended for SUP-ers!
