A great cabin to visit and loved the fishing trail going back soon

Very quiet in the winter. Bring your own water (the nearby well does not work), there is no refrigerator or oven for the propane stove so plan accordingly. Only 3 of the propane lights work, they do have a battery operated Coleman lantern. Bring a propane or similar Coleman style lantern if you want to read or play board games after dark. If you want a fire in the fire ring outside bring some very dry kindling and a few dry logs to get your fire going. There had been a big windstorm within the past month so hiking trails to falls etc were impassible. Still lots of beauty to see and serenity to experience. Highly recommended.

I work in pest control and was a bit concerned with the amount of mouse droppings in the cabin. I know exclusion work isn’t always effective especially in wooded areas. The other cabins I’ve stayed in, in Olympic national park were kept up much better. Many of the lights were out in the cabin as well. There was a huge pile of droppings right near the futon on the wall that was surprisingly missed. As well as droppings in the cupboards near the cooking utensils. Was a little disappointed compared to my previous stays at the Hamma Hamma and Louella cabins.

1. Facilities
Non working refrigerator.. in fact it is on back porch.. (and looks like it has been there a long time).. not noted in booking description.. is this a hazard? Googled “refrigerator death”
5 propane light fixtures.. 3 don’t work.. kitchen one is most critical.. looks again like a long neglected issue.
2. Cleanliness
Pretty filthy overall.. not the client quick cleanup type but accumulated over long time.
Woodwork needs a good deep clean.
Cabinets and utensil drawer have mouse turds and greasy.
Planned on using stove.. not a good idea.. dark hole.. wouldn’t put anything to eat in it!

Beautiful stay. The cabin is basic but has everything you need. Lovely propane fireplace for cozy winter nights.

Extremely clean, gorgeous area, amazing history. It was an honor to get to stay there. We had a peaceful quiet stay.

This was a wonderful two day get away! No phones, no television, no social media. Loved it! Went hiking, enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed a fire outside. Hiked to Murhut Falls... it's a great place to stay. Cabin has basically everything you'll need. Bring your food in cooler with ice, but pots and pans are well stocked. The Propane heater is wonderful, kept the cabin cozy. Absolutely a five star event and I'd go back in a heartbeat. I will add that I wouldn't want to stay here during the summer months - being at the head of the Ranger Hole hike, people will be coming there all day until too dark to hike. You certainly won't have privacy at the cabin until dark. All in all, wonderful retreat!

Wonderful location and cabin is a marvelous piece of woodworking.

Mice everywhere, dirty, disgusting, lights broken. Propane smell, caused headaches left before 10pm. Retire this old cabin and don't have it be somewhere people can stay. It's not safe. No running water, no electricity. It's GARBAGE. Not worth staying there.

Cabin is rustic but cozy, lights didn’t work but one, also bring cooler and lights. The floor could use a mop, the water pump is not easy. the walk to the outhouse at night is scary! But the Ranger hole trail is awesome so is murhut falls! Must see!! I enjoyed sitting at the front porch with my wine listening to the rain.
