What Guests Are Saying
Charbonneau Park and Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds, friendly and accommodating staff, and clean facilities, offering a peaceful camping experience with lovely views of the lake. Many visitors appreciated the ample space between sites and the campground's overall cleanliness, noting it as a great place for families and outdoor activities. However, some campers reported issues with uneven tent sites, occasional water problems, and the presence of pests like earwigs and goatheads, which detracted from their experiences.

A very quiet beautiful campground. We enjoyed the many kinds of birds.
Warning for bicycle riders. We got 3 flat tires. There are goat head plants off of pavement.
Stay on roads or /and carry extra tubes.
We enjoyed our time and will be back..

It was peaceful and the grounds were well maintained. The bathrooms were super clean. Only thing to be aware of is the surplus of goatheads growing in the grass, if you are tent camping be careful lol

I stayed here in my 26 ft class c in site 51. There was electric only. We had a decent view of the boats in the harbor. It was an easy walk to the (thankfully clean) shower & restroom building. The park was well run & clean. The people working there went out of their way to help & were very friendly!
There were some sites with beautiful views of the lake, will try to get one of those next time!

I received great help arriving at the front desk when I was able to switch from my original site to a pull through with full amenities. The woman who helped me was one of the volunteers and I opened my app for recreation.gov and got started and then she took over cuz she was much faster than I was and confirmed the new site and I was able to pay the small amount of money required because I have an America the Beautiful pass. What a nice person she was. I'm sorry I don't remember her name.

We always like this park. It’s close to home and always pretty quiet. We did have some branches in the way of our slide and they need to trim some tree branches up a bit higher, otherwise great place to camp.

Grass needed mowing. I went to the restroom to take a shower at 8 am and the restroom was closed for cleaning. Seems like an odd time to close a restroom.
