What Guests Are Saying
Charbonneau Park and Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds, friendly and accommodating staff, and clean facilities, offering a peaceful camping experience with lovely views of the lake. Many visitors appreciated the ample space between sites and the campground's overall cleanliness, noting it as a great place for families and outdoor activities. However, some campers reported issues with uneven tent sites, occasional water problems, and the presence of pests like earwigs and goatheads, which detracted from their experiences.

The camp hosts are unfriendly and overly strict with the policies. They also need to manage the goat heads/puncture vine all over the camp ground.

Great site.
We were pleasantly surprised that this site had full hook ups (elec, water & sewer). 50 amp & 30 amp outlet at the site! We were thinking it only had a 50 amp plug, so that was awesome we didn't need our dog bone adapter.
The site managers on duty were super friendly and knowledgeable. They pointed out options for getting to the beach area near site 30. They do drive around often to check on the campground, but give some leniency. Water pressure was great and water tasted good(no foul odors or tastes). Plenty of space between our site and others. Good shade. Very clean grounds.
Everyone was respectful around us. They have overflow parking available, as well as lots of room for other toys (boats, etc). Dumpsters available, we saw 2 or 3 dump stations at the entrance. Plenty of options to get fresh water for sites that dont have water hook up. We had a great experience and will definitely be back again in the coming years.

The camp host volunteers were lovely and helpful. However it really felt like it was just for campers and not for tenters. Just not super friendly. Also, I didn't realize that the waterfront campsites didn't have access to the water.

We arrived an hour before check in and were chased down by an old man on his golf cart who actually drove through a torrent of water from a misdirected irrigation spout all so he could informed us we'd have to go to the front of the park and wait in the parking lot for another hour before checking in. He was rude and didn't offer any explanation as to why that made any sense given it was incredibly hot outside and our site which provided electricity was sitting empty. Couldn't wait to leave.

Really great experience! Clean and very well maintained campground. Camping spots have nice green grass and picnic table. Most spots have a nice view of the lake or the marina inside the cove. Look forward to going to this place again.
