Camp hosts were fantastic! Super friendly.

Campground was great, clean and relaxing. Very close to the water and had enough room for everyone to spread out and social distance.

On July 3rd, Box Creek, there was a large group of young adults blasting a boom box, high on drugs, wrecked the bathroom and disrupted the boat launch area for several hours. It sucked. If only the camp hosts could have called someone to address the issue... The poor hosts had to clean up the mess in the bathroom. Also, the toilets hadn’t been pumped prior to the busy weekend which caused an unwelcomed smell to our campsite.

Otherwise, it was a great trip. I love Kachess and the campgrounds. I will always come back.

Loved this campground! Forested. Quiet. On the lake, which is convenient for kayaking or canoeing. Hiking trails nearby. Proximity to Snoqualmie Pass, Pacific Crest Trail, Palouse to Cascade Trail. Only a few things could use improvement. Campground staff was not overly friendly and did not adequately supply the bathrooms with toilet paper. The worst infraction was the lack of communication about our site, which we believe they took one pull-through site and made it into two individual sites that shared the pull through driveway. This was not the only site with this issue. Fortunately, we arrived first and were able to pull in, unhook our trailer, then move our truck to park behind the trailer. If the other party had been there, we would have had to go out of the loop and come in the wrong way in order to back our trailer into the site, which is what some other parties ended up doing.

Music was being played way to loud all day and was lower at night but still could hear it. I am out to enjoy the wilderness not listen to anyone's music. Older Kids were running around the campground all night yelling . The mosquitos were a nightmare!!

The campground it self is awesome- good bathroom locations and privacy.

This could have been a wonderful trip, but we had the most inconsiderate, loud neighbors I've ever had on a trip, and there was seemingly no supervision from campground staff. This is a very crowded, family friendly campground, so I expect a fair amount of noise as people settle in, but night 1, there were kids and teens screaming, yelling, and running through neighboring campsites til around midnight. Second night, our next door neighbors cranked up their music just as it was getting dark and they kept it going for hours. Why people think that others want to endure their crappy music while trying to enjoy nature, I'll never know.

We didn't stay the third night - hard to enjoy camping when you and your kids aren't getting any sleep.

The lake itself is gorgeous - we enjoyed floating in our inner tubes - and the flush toilets were nice. We will be back for day trips but will likely camp elsewhere, where we can enjoy a bit more privacy and quiet.

Also, look out for mosquitos - this is a place for allllll the deet if you don't want welts!

All of Box canyon is handy access to boat ramp for kayak. Peaceful and fun. This particular spot has a lot of room and could easily fit several cars or maybe an RV (non electric) plus had at least 3 great tent spots.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The reason for only 4 stars is because we visited the website the morning of our arrival. It said campfires were allowed. They weren't. We brought a propane fireplace just in case, but didn't use it because of the mosquitoes! The website should have been updated. I don't understand why campfires are not allowed in national forest campgrounds, but allowed in the national park.

Lake Kachess is beautiful and the campgrounds are well kept. It is popular and reservations are often gone early in the season, i.e. as soon as the reservation schedule is available. The first-come, first-serve sites are good sites if you can get them (we did). The bathrooms, whether flush or pit toilets, are kept clean, well-stocked and actually don't smell! The lake was great for swimming and paddle boarding with several pocket beaches along the shore for groups to hang out all day. Mosquitoes are bad this year, probably because of the unusual heat. Sunscreen and bug repellent are essential! We found the "smoke sticks" to be most effective at the campsite; we spent most of the day at the lake shore where it was cooler and had very few bugs.
