Kachess

Beautiful lake! Unfortunately this site was across from the camp host which had the generator running right up until quiet hours. It kind of took away from the whole camp experience in the evening time when it was so beautiful out with the stars and campfire and such. This site also has significant sun exposure during the day but has short trails close to the lake!

Just breathtaking!

Great campsite that didn’t feel TOO close to other sites. Shaded, but with limited coverage during the afternoon. It has direct access to a path that goes down to the water; you can’t see the lake from the site. Situated about 4 sites from the vault toilet, which was clean all weekend, and 1 site from the closest running water spigot. We fit two four-person tents, and could possibly have squeeze in one more. I had some cell reception with AT&T, though not a strong signal.

This was one of the best campgrounds I’ve stayed at. Spacious sites, lots of walking and exploring. My only “complaint” would be the cut down trees all over the place seem to be attracting a TON of carpenter ants. Would love to see the cut down trees removed, especially the ones that are basically turning to sawdust due to ants. We will definitely be camping here again.

Fantastic host this season! She had her hands full managing multiple loops, yet she ensured all of our needs were met and she made us feel very welcome. The host managing Box Canyon from the previous two seasons with the school bus and non-stop generator outside of quiet hours seems to not be back. The current host managed her generator use appropriately and respectfully of the guests, especially in the evening. The lake is almost as low as we've seen it over the last 15 years. First in some time that we'd drove out onto the shelf on the little Kachess side to drop our kayaks (we were hoping we could go out the back of our site but was just too far).

Facilities were poorly set up. Our bathroom for Mineral Creek was filthy, with one stall, several holes in the walls where electric boxes may have been, and no electric. Campsite was fine, scrubby and open. Poor signage on where "new store" was, and unhelpful hosts.

We showed up at 1:15pm but the person at the front gate wanted me to pay $10 to get on the property before 2pm. I have never been to a campground in WA that restricts access 45 min early, but I watched several cars show up and pay the additional fee. It was very disappointing, but they seem to be collecting quite a bit extra money with this approach.

A good set of campsites, we enjoyed kayaking on Kachess Lake. However the restrooms are very few (only 2 for a whole campground) and hence pretty unclean! They didn't even have wash basins, and were more basic. We still had an overall pleasant experience this summer

The only thing I would have a small issue with is that the site could have been a little more level. Other than that, it was an excellent time and the staff was top notch. I've booked 2 additional stays there this season, so I guess that speaks for itself. Keep up the good work and have a great rest of the season.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it! The camp sites are well maintained and the camp host was great. The lake water level was somewhat low, but not an issue if you're planning on paddleboarding like we did.
