We've been loyal visitors to this campground (Box Canyon is our favs) for years, but our recent 4th of July experience was challenging. Arriving an hour early, we were asked to wait until the 2 PM check-in, resulting in a long line of campers on a dusty road. While we understand the need for check-in procedures, it seems allowing campers to enter gradually could enhance the experience for everyone. We love this campground and hope this feedback helps improve future holiday check-ins.

The campsite was awesome! Super clean and a great setup. Water was nearby along with the bathrooms. The camp hosts were accommodating and very helpful!

Though a large campground, it is broken down into smaller areas that each feel like their own small campground. We loved Thetis Creek. Our site—120—was large, with good privacy from other campsites. It was right next to one of the bathrooms, which is either a plus or minus depending on your preference. Only a short walk to beach and lake access. Our host was lovely, making sure bathroom was clean regularly and checking in to make sure we had what we needed. One of the hosts even delivered ice to our site when it was late to arrive at the onsite store! Our only complaint would be that many people seem to have no idea about how to share space and talked loudly late at night and early in the morning, but our host did her best to keep things quiet at night, visiting each campsite to remind them that quiet hours start at 10.

(June 2024) the lake was pretty low for this time of year. We love this campground, it beautiful and clean. The camp host was friendly and very knowledgeable about forestry. We will continue to come back here.

Our campsite was nice and backed up to the lake. There was plenty of room for multiple tents if you walked slightly down a hill behind the site...I'm not sure if it was intended for a tent but it looked like others had done so in the past. The bathroom situation however was not good. When we first arrived there was no toilet paper and no soap. A couple hours later the toilet paper had been replenished but still no soap. It was only slightly better than a vault toilet.

We went early thinking we could use the day use area while our site was ready, but found out we had to pay for the day use even though we had already paid for the camp site.

From Seattle, travel east on I-90 approximately 62 miles, or from Cle Elum travel west on I-90 approximately 20 miles. Take exit 62 and follow Kachess Lake Road for 5.5 miles to the campground, which is on the right.
Kachess is accessible via I-90, which is approximately 14 miles to the north, providing access to major cities and routes in the region.

General
- Water levels in Kachess Lake and Little Kachess Lake vary during the summer
- First-come, first-served sites may be available
- Off-road vehicle use is not permitted in the campground
- Reserved campsites will be held until check-out time (noon) on the day following your scheduled arrival.
- The campground may be full and no accommodations may be available after a no show is processed.
- Citations may be issued for exceeding Max Occupancy and campsite footprint
- Pets must be leashed in the campground at all times
- Firewood is available to purchase at the campground for $10.00/bundle.

- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. - Water is available in this location via a handpump and/or water spigot. Please DO NOT attach your RV hoses to the water systems we provide. These are made available to you to fill your water jugs/buckets and take back to your site to use. If you need to fill your RV water tanks, please fill your tank before you come to the campground.
