Always Fun. This is one of our family favorite place.

The campsite is beautiful, the lake is as clean as one can expect, except for trash left behind by visitors which the park can only do so much of. Large camping spaces, not too many bugs, only complain I have is, the bathroom was plugged by someone in the early morning, and was still plugged with water all over the floor around 1pm when we left. Overall, pleased with the experience. Would come back hoping the bathrooms would be working lol.

Pros: the campground is nice and the lake is beautiful and there are a number of spots in/near the day use beach that are pretty great for hanging out with easy access to the lake. The site was near bathroom.
Cons: Would return to the campground but NOT this site — while it was a double and we had lots of room, most of it is without any shade and so dusty that it put a damper on the fun especially on a scorching hot weekend.

This is a wonderful campground, and an original jewel of the Pacific Northwest. My extended family enjoys our annual week of camping here, we've been doing this for the last 17 years. We choose to come here because we love it so much. I certainly hope that we can continue to camp here for years to come.

Campsite was great, easy walk to the lake. The main negative was the servicing of the bathroom. Each morning there would be no toilet paper left until about 11:00am when they would finally come around and replenish it - so if you needed the toilet between about 9:30pm and 11:00am, you needed to have brought your own! I'll never go camping without a backup roll in my supplies again! Additionally, when our party arrived separately, the 2nd car had difficulty getting into the campground because they did not have the site numbers on hand. There was limited to no cell service so it was a problem trying to get that information to them in order to gain entry. The campground should have a better system of looking up sites by last name.

We love this campground, but I wouldn't camp in site 153 again. Due to hazard tree management, the site is very exposed. Although it is listed as a standard site, it is actually a double, but there isn't really room for two families to camp. Lastly, the area is so impacted by use that the ground is loose duff, and we came away with all our clothing and gear coated in a thick layer of dirt. There was evidence of recent replanting, and I am grateful to the FS for their efforts to keep this campground open while trying to enhance the condition of the forest here.

We arrived and it was a very busy day at Lake Kachees. We were able to find out campsite easily and it was very clean. The atmosphere was great and it was very relaxing place to stay. The lake was absolutely beautiful and you could see all of the stars at night.
