Pros: the campground is nice and the lake is beautiful and there are a number of spots in/near the day use beach that are pretty great for hanging out with easy access to the lake. The site was near bathroom.
Cons: Would return to the campground but NOT this site — while it was a double and we had lots of room, most of it is without any shade and so dusty that it put a damper on the fun especially on a scorching hot weekend.

The campsite is beautiful, the lake is as clean as one can expect, except for trash left behind by visitors which the park can only do so much of. Large camping spaces, not too many bugs, only complain I have is, the bathroom was plugged by someone in the early morning, and was still plugged with water all over the floor around 1pm when we left. Overall, pleased with the experience. Would come back hoping the bathrooms would be working lol.

126 is the closest to the water. Hardly any shade though.

We really liked it here. We stayed at 141 Box Canyon. Decent site, big, but a little too close to other campers. Maybe not even too close but it seemed like there could be more trees, etc, adding more intimacy. But we loved the lake and the views around. We will definitely be going back.

Site 184 at Kachess Lake is the worst camp site I’ve experienced in my 50 years of camping. We are avid campers and have camped in other sites here before. The map makes it appear that site 184 is in a private area with just one other campsite (183) set a ways apart. In fact this camp site is part of the overflow parking lot ( which on a busy summer weekend was completely full), next to public restrooms (20’ away) and the other camp site butts up to 184 without even a shrub or log for separation. You have about 10’ from other campers. We were so appalled that, even though driving for two hours, and looking forward to our much needed “weekend away “ we turned around with our dog and kids and drove home. There were no other available spots. The map is false advertising and the site details should say this is NOT a private site and adjoins with the other site and parking lot , plus next to the pit toilets for day use and campers use.

From Seattle, travel east on I-90 approximately 62 miles, or from Cle Elum travel west on I-90 approximately 20 miles. Take exit 62 and follow Kachess Lake Road for 5.5 miles to the campground, which is on the right.
Kachess is accessible via I-90, which is approximately 14 miles to the north, providing access to major cities and routes in the region.

General
- Water levels in Kachess Lake and Little Kachess Lake vary during the summer
- First-come, first-served sites may be available
- Off-road vehicle use is not permitted in the campground
- Reserved campsites will be held until check-out time (noon) on the day following your scheduled arrival.
- The campground may be full and no accommodations may be available after a no show is processed.
- Citations may be issued for exceeding Max Occupancy and campsite footprint
- Pets must be leashed in the campground at all times
- Firewood is available to purchase at the campground for $10.00/bundle.

- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. - Water is available in this location via a handpump and/or water spigot. Please DO NOT attach your RV hoses to the water systems we provide. These are made available to you to fill your water jugs/buckets and take back to your site to use. If you need to fill your RV water tanks, please fill your tank before you come to the campground.
