Lake Creek Campground - Entiat River

Our site was clean and beautiful, as was the whole campground.
It was nice to see the ranger come by a couple of times.

Really beautiful place to camp. Lake Creek CG offers plenty of shade at most sites and the vault toilets were kept in good clean shape. Easy road access. We camped June 7-11, 2024 and Site 16 specifically was shady and good distance between other sites. Site 16 is not at the rivers edge like other sites which was great for kids and dogs as this site allowed them to wander off just a bit without the worry of them falling in the river. The canyon overlook is great to visit, it’s just up the main road! Wear good sturdy shoes as a part of the trail to access and see the canyon view is slippery dirt, steep and narrow in spots (flip flops stunk to do this). Tried to take the dirt road to Chelan but snow blocked the entire road. Do recommend taking it though as the views are great as you gain elevation. Highly recommend this campground! Biking, hiking, walking all good activities here.

We were in site 15 and had a good amount of space. We were able to fit 3 tents on the site (total of 8) people in the back area and left the front portion for our chairs. The site was really well spaced out and we didn't hear other campers very much. The vault toilet was across our site and the water pump right in front us. The toilet smelled REALLY bad the first day but someone left the door open overnight I believe and the smell wasn't nearly as bad. Trash is pretty far from the site.

Our site had a LOT of wasps/bees? Not sure which ones but they were getting into our food and swarming everything/everyone. We got really good at ignoring them most of the time but when we cooked it got really bad. They kept eating our uncooked/cooked meat. Access to the water is pretty steep. We had to go in from another area (outside of our campsite) to access.

By the last day, we were the last ones at the entire campground since it was a Monday. We never interacted with the camp host. Not entirely too sure if there was one but we did see a truck on Saturday morning that may have been the host?

We saw a deer come pretty close to us because it wanted water from the pump and a neighbor told us a black bear? was in the area on our first night. We never saw the bear, thankfully.

Not sure if I would book this site again because of the bees/wasps but it was a fun time overall!

Bring ‘strong’ deet mosquito repellent. We bring 2 types + 2 or 3 citronella candles. This park is my favorite. Not really great for kids because there’s not a lot of places for them to play. It’s very hilly and steep drop offs. This park is great for folks wanting to disconnect and recover. Also, the bathrooms and the garbage dumpster is far apart from most sites, so you might want to bring your own portables. There was no water available this weekend, so carry enough water for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes.
