Sites were clean. Hosts were friendly. Some water spigots weren't active, but the one by the boat launch had very high pressure for rapid fills.

Very nice campground in a forested area, but due to dry summer the lake was so low the boat ramp didn’t reach the water. My campsite #16 pooled water around my camper after a night of heavy rain. Formed a lake of a couple of inches to negotiate when stepping out.

The water level is very low during Labor Day weekend. You can easily walk/swim across the lake! There is only one water spigot for the campground, so be sure to bring large jugs to haul it to your campsite. No internet access or cell phone service. No fires ever, even if it's pouring down rain for hours. The campground is very clean, including the pit toilets. Camp hosts have been friendly, and most other campers have been respectful of quiet hours and each other's property. A great place to rustic camp!

Camp hosts were very welcoming and informative. Rest rooms kept clean, enjoyed our stay.
We found the Bumping lake trail to be very interesting seeing how the fire had impacted the area. Having been their years ago what a contrast.
Trail was in fairly good condition except by Boulder creek, crossing not clear.

Loud obnoxious campers ignoring the fact others came to camp to get away from civilization. The rule is to keep quite clearly posted, no one seemed to care. Campers making fires ignoring the no fire ordinance. Seems no rules are enforced anymore. I won’t camp at a national park again.

Getting There
From Yakima, travel 25 mi on Highway 12 to the junction with Highway 410. Travel 29 mi on Highway 410 (Chinook Pass Highway) to milepost 88.4. Take Forest Road 18 (Bumping River Road) for 11.7 mi to campground.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- Single site fees cover one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle; extra vehicles incur a fee if space allows.
- Firewood can be purchased at the host site for $10 per bundle.
