Spring Canyon

Its a nice place. Been going there for many years. The new park ranger has nothing better to do than harass people. The first incident was when he told us we could not park on the grass bordering out camp spot. I could understand that if it was grass. It was just brown vegetation with gravel. And this spot has always been a parking spot.
The second incident was when he harassed my son for no reason at the launch area as being suspicious. Totally unnecessary. My son is a normal looking American with short hair and dresses normally.
The 3rd time was when we were parked in front of a closed spot on the upper loop. The car was small and totally out of the way. In addition there were large RVs parked similarly!
This ranger needs to address more important things and quit picking on people. We were always polite to him too.

We were camping in a 21 foot trailer. Campsite 024 is EXTREMELY SMALL and very level.... we used every leveling device we had to get a half way level setting and the outside table was absolutely on an angle. There are some very nice sites at this campground and some very disappointing, unlevel and inadequate sites. It is difficult to ascertain what the site will be like from the pictures and information on the website but we felt "we did not get our monies worth" on this site as compared to the sites below us and those above.

Park personnel were "nonexistent" at the time we came into the park so we could not ask to change our site even though there were others that were available the entire time we were there.

We love Spring Canyon, have camped and fished there many times before. We still loved our visit.... just disappointed with this little, unlevel, squished "in" and inadequate site!!

Despite that... we will be back... hopefully with a much better site next time. Cherrie & Gerry

Beautiful view. We tent camp w/ tent attached to minivan. It’s Very difficult to do this at this camp site due to very hard gravelly ground.

Beautiful site right on the river. Hosts were great too.

Exceptionally clean and well maintained campground. The only thing I would change is to add fire rings to the Upper Loop campsites. It was disappointing to not have a campfire at night.

We had space 26 I believe and we were not able to back out 26 foot TT into the spot due to the guests parking along the road for the group camp. We took the host spot after we realized they would not be there for a few more weeks. The rangers checked in daily to see if we had reservations, they were fine with it as long as we did. The campground was amazingly beautiful, the neighbors were great and it was an awesome first camp of the season. Next time we will bring the kayaks instead of the bikes :)

Because of the open nature of that area, there's not much privacy. If the regular toilets are open, they are pretty convenient, but in the off season, it's a long walk to the pit toilet from the upper part of the lower camp loop. Nice views, and a great nature trail, and one heck of a beach.

It was fine. We had had reservations for like 3 weeks, but when we showed up, there were old reservation papers at the campsites that were a few days to a week old. ....but not ours. And i realize it's winter, and the restrooms are closed and all, but why can't there be a dumpster to throw our trash in? Almost feel like we shouldn't of had to pay anything. Other than that, it's a good campground. We enjoyed ourselves.
