Me and my friend stayed here during the Covid-19 pandemic, hoping to get some time away from the city after being cooped up for 3 months.
The Pros: easy access to a beautiful lake and beautiful scenery. I was afraid it would be too crowded but the beach and swim area is big enough that it was easy to distance from other people. Lake and beach were clean and water felt great. The bathrooms are nice and clean as well and the campground host seemed very nice. We saw her talking to a lot of people and she seemed very friendly!
The Cons: Campsites are SUPER close together. Like almost right on top of each other. We had a hard time figuring out which picnic table was ours because our site was so close to our neighbors. If you have a respectful neighbor, this isn't much of a problem, however on our last night there, our new neighbors that moved in brought about 15 people and their whole kitchen and living room with them. They stayed up until 3 AM talking loudly, crushing beer cans and shining their lights in our tent, even after I got up twice and asked them to be quieter. Then they woke up at 6:30 and were banging around first thing in the morning. Honestly the rudest people I have ever camped beside. Just be warned that this is a possibility and to bring earplugs. Also, if you're camping to get away from people during Covid, just look for a different campground. This one is way too packed with people and sites are too close.

The day use area was very nice. Our campsite was not level and had very little shade. Quiet hours were not enforced and was very noisy until 2 AM both nights we were there.

Great place to stay for price and swim area but camping areas are small and people dont always respect personal space. People can tend to get a bit to drunk and loud at night in sites.

Love the location! Love Love Love the beach! The primary drawback is no showers. If you add showers, it becomes top level destination. And I mean inside showers with privacy, not those outdoor cow showers. Again, Great campgrounds! One of the best I've been to and so very well priced. Great value, much better than the high priced state parks!

Take State Highway 2 west of Spokane for 65 miles to the town of Wilbur, Washington. Turn north on State Highway 174 (follow road signs). Travel 19 miles and turn right at the sign for Spring Canyon Campground.
Spring Canyon Campground is accessible via State Highway 2, which is approximately 65 miles from Spokane, and State Highway 174, which connects to the campground from Wilbur.

General
- Dump/Fill Station onetime fee of $10 for campers with a reservation or $5 with Senior/Access pass. This is intended for visitors recreating in established campgrounds within the boundaries of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and not for residential use. Pay online prior to use at pay.gov/public/form/start/1575878640
- Flush toilets are available and water faucets turned on May 1st to September 30, weather permitting
- Campfires are not allowed in upper loop sites 32-78
- Pets are allowed but must be restrained at all times.
- No livestock.
- No off-road vehicles allowed. No off-road parking; park in designated areas only.
- No metal detectors or artifact collecting allowed
- Bring confirmation with you. Transfer the confirmation information onto the green slips located at the Fee Board as you enter the campground. Hang filled out tag at your site.
- Fires are permitted in the fire rings year-round, EXCEPT when the fire danger rating reaches a critical level as indicated by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources for the area that includes Lake Roosevelt NRA.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
- Weekly Boat Launch Permits must be purchased on line at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/656441199 . Please purchase prior to your trip. Annual Boat Launch Permits are available in person by vendor only.
- Due to watering the odd campsites numbered from 33 - 77 are RV only. No tents allowed on the grass.
