About Spring Canyon

Spring Canyon Campground, on the shoreline of Lake Roosevelt, is perfect for those who enjoy being on the water. The 130-mile long lake is a feature of the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. The lake is named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt and is a part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, managed by the National Park Service. Campers have the convenience of a day-use swimming area and plenty of space to sit back and soak up the summer sun and cooler days of spring and fall.

What Guests Are Saying

Spring Canyon offers a beautiful campground with well-maintained facilities, clean restrooms, and a lovely beach area for swimming and fishing. Many visitors appreciate the helpful campground staff and the peaceful setting, especially during off-peak times. However, some campers noted issues with noise from nearby sites, close proximity of campsites, and the absence of a camp host, which affected their experience. Overall, the location's charm and access to outdoor activities make it a desirable spot for many.

The "fair" rating has much less to do with the sites at Spring Canyon as it does my disapointment with what the experience of camping in campgrounds has become. It's just all bluetooth speakers and screens. I just wish people were quieter in general. But this feels like an unreasonable expectation on my part.
Bathrooms were nice, the waterfront area is nice, i love all the orioles, and warblers.

Kids running around yelling like hooligans till 1 in the morning. Campsites not super suitable for tents. Unless you want to get hit by sprinklers. Camp host not available when needed. But it’s very close to the dam and we were happy to get a spot on short notice!

My stay was great. It’s the second time I’ve been there. It is very peaceful during the shoulder seasons. There were only three other campers there when I was there.

The scenery is beautiful, the park well maintained. My only suggestion would be to have a garbage receptacle at the campground during off season.

Campground full sign was up and had a feeling there were plenty of spaces available on a Sunday night and sure as heck there were.
Nice place would stay there again.

April 1st, 2024, for 6 days. Perfect peaceful stay. Great for fully contained boondockers. We were challenging ourselves in our little trailer how well we could manage on our limited supply of water, food, power management, etc . The camp was deserted except for a few harty folks who stayed a night or two. The weather was cool with occasional rain showers. Fishing was not great. However, for me not fishing for 20+ years, it didn't help. I was a bit rusty. A park ranger stopped by and said that even the folks with boats didn't have much luck either. He complemented us on our trailer and said that he was getting one like ours in May. It was also nice to have Grand Coulee so close that we were able to go purchase a few things we decided we wanted for our meals. We had a very quiet, cozy stay in our little trailer. We hope to go again this fall. So we hope to see you boondockers out there.
In one of my photos, we caught Bigfoot peeking at us.😁
