Our happy place. The current camp host family that has been there the past couple of years is great. Love the new dog swim area and swim dock at the beach area. Looking forward to next year!

We arrived in the rain late afternoon to find the site woefully short for a 24' camper. Over the winter they had placed huge boulders in the wrong places. We met with the camp hosts and they found us a great site available and we had a great time. We found the toilets to be extremely clean and well stocked. They are pit toilets so there was an odor but far less then you'd expect - they were pumped recently. The park enforcement officer, David, was friendly and helpful. The setting and lake are magnificent. There are bears in the area so we kept the hiking to a minimum. Overall a great time was had.

Absolutely beautiful country and close to home for us! Quiet, wooded, and not far from the lake where we parked.

Bathrooms were either full of flies or stunk SO bad. Also had a big family next to us who allowed their kids to run by our tent at 6:30 in the morning, screaming. Then took their dogs down to the beach (one of them pee’d on someone else’s stuff and they did nothing!) off leash. We, on the other hand, got yelled at by not only the camp host but also a ranger for watching a movie the ended 23 minutes after 10pm! Also, one more complaint… the walk in sites that only allow one car, are $31!!!! Are you kidding me?!?! WAY over priced!! Same price for a regular site that allows multiple cars. Doesn’t make sense to me!

Second time up here in less than two months and it did not disappoint! Very private spot. The camp hosts, are absolutely wonderful. Great down to Earth people. Look forward to my next visit!
( people that have to CONTINUALLY run their generators….you know you won’t survive the apocalypse, right? ) good grief! 🙄

The booking system for state campgrounds is getting ridiculous. There is no way that a group site could be booked for the entire season within one minute of it opening up for bookings. Something needs to be changed about the way campgrounds are booked.

I love camping here! We had fun hiking and paddleboarding. The nature loop trail had a lot of down trees on the path but it was still fun. The lakeshore trail gives great views of the lake. There were a lot of dogs barking in the campground. Our site (#15) didn't have a bear box. We loved walking through the campground, down to the water and past the airport to the bridge each night.

Bathrooms weren't kept as clean as in the past. Over all it was fun.

We were in site 15 as we have been many times. It is right next to an outdoor toilet that was very “full”. The smell wafted to our campsite the worst but our friends in 12, 13 and 14 also got it. Often it was difficult to sleep or just be in the campsite because of it. The camp hosts were great and kept the washroom clean. I asked if they could put in some lime to cut the smell. They said they weren’t t allowed to use lime because the people that pumped the toilets out didn’t want it used. Asked if they could put something else in to cut the smell. They said they had run out of a product and apparently a new product hadn’t been given to them. It was so bad we actually went to Ione to find a product ourselves but there was nothing available. We have been coming to Sullivan for 39 years and love our time there! I know I’ll never take that site again. Please ensure you equip your camp hosts with the proper supplies!
