Initially the well was not working, a crew came in to repair things, after they left the pump was working but the water was brown, not suitable for drinking. So far as our camp site everything was fine.

I stayed only one night, during the peak of the summer. The campground felt "abandoned". Not only in its occupancy ( which gives you more privacy) but also in its care. I think the fire from a couple of seasons ago has left this site in a comeback stage. The highlight, however, was waking up at 3 AM to a clear sky doused with stars and galaxies ever so brightly. 1/2 hour in either direction will lead you to Tipso Lake on Mt. Rainier or Whistlin' Jacks, a restaurant on the river, resort, and gas station. Also plenty of river spots if you head East, away from the mountain. I will return, due to its location. FYI, the host provides no firewood and the bathrooms are a level 3-4 in cleanliness.

I gave a poor review at Lodgepole campground because the campground host did not enforce the quiet hours requirement during the 10 PM to 6 AM rule. Our neighbors had a portable generator next to their trailer and tent and kept their generator going from 8 PM until 9 AM both August 5 and August 6. When we asked them to turn it off or move it away from our tent, they just said "no, get over it" and moved the generator closer to our tent. When we reported this to the campground host he said there was nothing he could do as he had a prior confrontration with them.

This was a great campground. I loved that it was paved snd allowed the kids to ride bikes and scooters. Lots of tree’s and shade throughout the day. We’ll be back.

A nice campground overall in a tucked away area of the woods near Mt. Rainier, with simple facilities and nice sites with plenty of space.
There are a lot of downed trees scattered around the site, which I am unsure if this is related to recent work culling the trees for fire season, however, it does sometimes make navigating around and placing tents or equipment a bit tricky.
Additionally, this site is prone to campfire bans and water being shut off, both of which happened to us, so if you plan on using fires, consider reserving earlier in the season to avoid the inconvenience.

- Single site fees include 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle. Any additional vehicles are subject to an extra vehicle fee on-site, space permitting.
- Off-road vehicle use prohibited in campground

- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. - Water is available in this location via a handpump and/or water spigot. Please DO NOT attach your RV hoses to the water systems we provide. These are made available to you to fill your water jugs/buckets and take back to your site to use. If you need to fill your RV water tanks, please fill your tank before you come to the campground. Thank you!
- Firewood is available for sale at host site for $10.00/bundle.
