Very hassle free with camp host and ease of getting in and out of campsites. Sites are very river bank accessible. Nice distance between each campsite.

Lovely campsite with easy access up the beautiful Cayuse Pass to get into Rainier N.P. Not far off of 410 so there is some traffic noise but it is minimal and tapers off to mostly nothing after dark. Single water tap in the campground and it was turned off for unknown reasons after our first day. Was never able to interact with the camp host to find out why and if it was likely to be turned back on. Pullthrough site was plenty big enough for our 25' Class C with additional 14' motorcycle trailer. We unhooked the trailer and drove the Class C all over Rainer for two days while rain and fog kept us from enjoying the motorcycle. Picnic table, bear box and firepit were all very usable.

I liked how spaced out the sites were, so you didn't feel like you were on top of your neighbors.

Our site was adjacent to the river, and had direct access. Sites were huge and the pit toilets were very clean.

Excellent rustic campground. Spacious campsites, pit toilets - cleaned regularly, one water spigot by the entrance for the entire campground. The creek behind the campgrounds is nice, especially for kids to play in/around. Ten minutes from Chinook Pass and the PCT, 45 minutes from Sunrise in Rainier NP. FYI, zero cell phone reception at the campgrounds.

Campsites are well maintained and are nicely spaced for the most part. Beautiful setting along the American River.

We spent three nights in this campground over the 4th of July holiday. It was the first camping experience for our corgi puppy, and she got lots of interactions with other dogs and people. Site 13 is very close to pit toilets, across from the care taker (nice guy but runs his generator 18 hours a day), and sits on the inside curve of the road. Not private, but not close to other camp sites, either. As others have noted, the site is quite exposed during the day; bring shade or be away when the sun is high. A short trail to the American River is located across the road. In all, a very well maintained campground and a pleasant experience.

This is our 3rd or 4th time coming by to Lodgepole. I know it’s reliable and will have a solid camp site with accessible drinking water so I will be coming back again. The camp host was friendly and nice.
