This is my favorite place to camp near Seattle. I will come back every year. It’s generally quiet with large sites. Joe the camp host was very good at cleaning the sites and toilets. Thank you for a great experience

Nice campground right on the river.
There is also a short hike on the east end that takes you down to a cool little waterfall area that was very secluded.
Pit toilet close to our site was pretty stinky and had high use.
I ended up using the one by the day use area that was slightly used.

Great campground for family. It’s well maintained and the paved road allows the kids to ride bikes safely. The river is peaceful.

This is our 3rd or 4th time coming by to Lodgepole. I know it’s reliable and will have a solid camp site with accessible drinking water so I will be coming back again. The camp host was friendly and nice.

Really nice and quiet campground. Site was generously sized and private. Only thing to nitpick was there’s only one water spigot. Easy drive to Mt Rainer NP just up the road.

We spent three nights in this campground over the 4th of July holiday. It was the first camping experience for our corgi puppy, and she got lots of interactions with other dogs and people. Site 13 is very close to pit toilets, across from the care taker (nice guy but runs his generator 18 hours a day), and sits on the inside curve of the road. Not private, but not close to other camp sites, either. As others have noted, the site is quite exposed during the day; bring shade or be away when the sun is high. A short trail to the American River is located across the road. In all, a very well maintained campground and a pleasant experience.

Campsites are well maintained and are nicely spaced for the most part. Beautiful setting along the American River.

Excellent rustic campground. Spacious campsites, pit toilets - cleaned regularly, one water spigot by the entrance for the entire campground. The creek behind the campgrounds is nice, especially for kids to play in/around. Ten minutes from Chinook Pass and the PCT, 45 minutes from Sunrise in Rainier NP. FYI, zero cell phone reception at the campgrounds.

Our site was adjacent to the river, and had direct access. Sites were huge and the pit toilets were very clean.
