About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

The sites were not well managed. Sites we reserved were already taken. The site next to us was triple reserved. The bathrooms were out of commission and the vault toilet had no toilet paper. Dogs were not allowed on trails. The hot springs were fun.

Spot #18 was a very nice spot, had the creek running down the hill. Having the water shut off so the bathrooms weren't available was kind of a downside since the vault toilet was clear on the other end of the loop. There seemed to be a lot of vehicle traffic, I assume due to the time of year and weather. The spot itself had a picnic table and fire ring, though you were not going to find dry wood to scrounge anywhere nearby. Also, this site might not be available after too many more springs since the area for the picnic table and such is falling down the hillside towards the creek. We arrived with a quad/extended cab standard-bed pickup and a bumper pull trailer that was 29.6 ft tongue to tail and we fit into the site without issue. The campground itself was quite wooded, so I think summer visits would be great for beating the heat, not so much if you are hoping to use solar to charge your batteries. The Resort itself was pretty busy when we walked up Saturday, quite a few folks in the pools, but all of the pools were available. There was no cell signal and no WiFi. We did not eat at the restaurant. They do have a small gift shop and supply store, just in case you forget something or want something to commemorate the trip. All in all it was a nice place to visit.

Great place, lovely walks from the door! Hike up to the falls from the resort through snowy forest was truly magical. The RV site was a bit tight but OK in the cold weather where no one is spilling outside but maybe this changes once the campsites are open. Staff all great.

No water, bathrooms closed. One vault toilet which was totally overused and was required to accommodate 40-80+ people as the campground was full. Wood smoke was so dense in the campground due to campers burning wet wood it became toxic and unhealthy to breath.

The time limit on hotsprings comes across as cheap and greedy. One used to get a day pass with admission.
Campground had a water issue apparently with only one pit toilet in operation.
Cost of camping has gone up considerably over past 5 years.
Trees are still incredible. It's such a treat to have that forest so accessible.

No running water or toilets for people paying good money to camp. Freezing, unsanitary health violations, people defecating in river. Yet running water at the resort...

Still wet this time of year with a little snow still on the ground. There were several camp sites with lots of debris scattered. Seems the spring cleanup has yet to occur.

Bathrooms were stocked and heated (remember the snow) and water was running.

My biggest gripe is the hot springs is still doing 90 minute slots for visitors which was really disappointing. This turns the pools into a timed activity instead of just "hitting the pools after hiking". I don't go camping so that I can keep a schedule I go camping so I can break it.

Location is beautiful but the campground had no water. The bathrooms were closed due to the loss of water. Very disappointing.
