Beautiful campground in the trees and was relatively quiet which was nice. Bathrooms were kept very clean. A great base before starting our backpacking trip. A mouse got into our car and into our food at night, so be sure to secure your food!

While the sites for tents looked very cosy with separate spots between the trees, th RV parking is just one big gravel field without any amenities (except a trash can). On the Positive side, it’s walking distance to the lodge which has coffee/ cappuccino and close to the hot springs and it’s only a 5 minute drive to the sol duc falls (get there before 9AM!). We also highly recommend the Lovers Lane hike which we did partially with our 2 and 4 year old. Was awesome!

This site is hidden in plain sight! Close to the restrooms and water but not smelly or noisy. Plenty of shade. No trees for hammocks or ropes, however. Overall, we liked the site and would return.

Just a note that the restrooms are pretty far away if you camp in the RV section.

A nice campground that is walking distance to the Hot Springs resort. We did have the smallest campsite in the campground and still managed to fit a 8 man tent on it. Our site was also the only site that had a lot of stinging nettles on it, they're not fun but also not the end of the world. Bathrooms were clean and well lit. There is a great swimming hole just down the road on the way in that we dipped in both days we were here, it was so much fun. We also hit the hot springs which were really relaxing after some long days of hiking on our trip.

Nice camp ground with access to good hiking
Stayed 3 nights in B loop, site 67. The site is split level with a parallel parking spot and then a couple of steps up to the picnic bench and tent area. We have a roof top tent and it made placement a bit harder. The site had some privacy at the tent level, but of course the parking spot is right on the road. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as there is good hiking right from the campground.
General notes on the camp ground
- Bathrooms
- Clean and well stocked.
- Water faucets for potable water were clean.
- Noise
- Some road noise from the road above the campground, but mostly in the morning as people are going up the Sol Duc Falls trailhead.
- Some loud people a bit past the quiet time, but that can happen anywhere.
- Camp host
- The camp host was very friendly and helpful.

Was expecting more of a campground. This was a gravel lot with hookups. Nearest bathroom is 1/4 mile walk away (literally, I tracked it), which was not advertised. We have a small trailer with no bathroom, so this was less than convenient.
On the plus side, it was a short walk to the resort and hot springs, and close to hiking trails. Personally, I would have rather stayed in the actual campground up the road as those were really nice sites near the river and were surrounded by trees.

Sol Duc is in the northern part of Olympic National Park, 28 miles west of Port Angeles and west of Lake Crescent.

From the east: From Port Angeles, take Hwy. 101 west for 29 miles, then turn left onto Sol Duc Hot Springs Rd and travel 12 miles to Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort.
From the south: From Forks, take Hwy. 101 north for 28 miles then turn right onto Sol Duc Hot Springs Rd and travel 12 miles to Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort.
The campground is accessed via State Route 101, which is approximately 20 miles to the south.
Elevation: 513 feet
41 mi drive to downtown Port Angeles (about 58 min)
Policies & Rules
General
- The Mineral Hot Springs & Pool access will be in sessions:8:00 AM - 9:30 AM10:00 AM - 11:30 AM12:00 PM - 1:30 PM2:00 PM - 3:30 PM4:00 PM - 5:30 PM6:00 PM - 7:30 PM2026 pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Children under the age of 4 may only access the smallest hot spring pool and the swimming pool.
- Caution: Wildlife including bears and raccoons frequent the area. All food and coolers (regardless of contents) must kept in approved animal proof containers.
- Pets must be kept on a leash up to 6 feet in length at all times. Pets are not allowed on National Park trails at any time.
- No loud music or sound (including generators) between the hours of , and .
- Please verify you know your site prior to arrival. If you have any questions or concerns, speak with the front desk at the resort or the camp host.
- The National Park Service charges entrance fees at the entrance station on Sol Duc Road. Refer to the park Fees and Passes page.
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
