About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

The campground is great, access to river and close to hot springs resort.
HOWEVER, Loop A, space 36 is not an acceptable campground for a tent bigger than 2 person tent, and is really unpleasant for tent camping overall. The tent pad is shoved between two trees and backs against vegetation up to another campsite, with low hanging limbs, with huge roots snaking along tent pad. Our tent did not fit in the space and we had to set it up on paved area (see below), obviously less than ideal.

The space is an accessible campground, so large paved area for wheelchair, and it would be great for a van or vehicle to use/park on the concrete pad.

However, it has been clearly not cared for (firepit covered by overhanging plants) and above re: tent pad/overhanging limbs/roots. I would not recommend this space in the campground for tent campers.

I like camping in the National and State Parks. But this campground, which was very expensive- $65 a night, was not a great experience. We arrived late at night and someone was camped in our site. There are no reservation tags on the sites. There are not hosts available to question. AND THERE ARE NO BATHROOMS! I know many RV's have bathrooms but our does not. The next morning I found out fm others that bathrooms were available at the next campground, but that information was not posted anywhere. When you pay $65 a night, you'd think there would at least be a port-a-potty available. I was disappointed.

If you book rv 010 drive through just know that you are actually not in a camp ground but instead in a dirt parking lot. Sure you have electricity and water but it is hot and dusty. No charm like the two campgrounds. Photos are misrepresenting and the camp host is clueless. There are no bathrooms there. You still have to pay the national park entrance fee above and beyond your camping. The hot spring water was pretty filthy and full of dead skin. So gross. Expensive to soak in dirty dead skin.

Beautiful campground in a lush setting along the river. Within walking distance to the lodge where you can buy provisions. Bathrooms were clean. From the campground you can hike 3 miles to Sol Duc Falls, which are spectacular. While the campsites are reservable, there are 4 walk-in sites that are not. These sites are particularly nice as they are more secluded and on the river.

Beautiful campsite and trails. Quiet campground nestled in big trees. Restroom facilities were just okay and the showers were closed for repair.

We were able to stay in the non RV campground and it was gorgeous. The camp hosts were dealing with a tough bathroom situation but they handled it beautifully. The sites are huge, the facilities are great and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is a bit pricey but not unexpected and the hot springs were a fun experience. Lots of people complain about the cleanliness of the pools but they were not unreasonably dirty for outdoor pools. We had a great time.

Sol Duc campground was awesome! Great views, wildlife, quiet.
The hot springs were a disappointment. Very dirty and uninterested staff. Children left alone to splash and yell - in the high temperature pools!
Not relaxing at all.

Pros: Hot Springs Resort were a lovely treat after a long day of driving. The Sol Duc area is gorgeous. A hike to the Sol Duc Falls is an absolute must!

Cons: Zero cell coverage, so be prepared. We stayed at the “RV Court” which is really just a gravel parking lot with electric and water hookups and a small picnic area. But campgrounds A and B looked nicer and more private (no hookups though).
