About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

Our spot was in the middle of the campground in Loop B, but it was wide and separated well from others. We had an incredible Doug Fir tree next to our tent pad. Only a few folks who were a bit loud shortly after quiet hours began, but that stopped fairly quickly. The morning was really beautiful with sunlight streaking through the trees and so many bird calls and chipmunks scurrying about.

This site is unlevel—all of it. It's unlevel to park your van if you're planning on sleeping in your rig, and then the entire site—whether you will set up a tent or just sit around in chairs—is on a slope.

Camped in RV portion and closest bathrooms were at the lodge, quite a bit away. Also, pretty sure electric hookup wasn’t working and water for site wasn’t working. It was a quiet spot and in general felt safe with the other campers right there. Definitely a little distance to sol dic waterfall trailhead, on the road.

Great campground. It is quite a bit away from the main road, but there is a small shop at the hot springs having some essentials. The place was big enough and the toilets were okay.

The campsite should not be booked as a tent site. The only level place to put up a tent is just the edge of the parking lot. The tree coverage at the site is not level and has lots of roots. This site is best for car camping or vans.

Beautiful spot. I was car camping (in my car) and the parking area was nice and level, which was great. Not a lot of privacy at this specific spot, but I didn't mind. Close to the bathrooms and trail to the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort. Would definitely come back!

This campground is in a beautiful location, and overall, we had a good stay. A couple of items merit comment, though:
This campground is operated by a concessionaire; it is more expensive per night than the NPS campgrounds, yet appeared to be less well maintained during our visit. Trash and recycling bins were constantly full or overfilled, and the restrooms had broken fixtures and were not cleaned every day. There were a couple of campsites with noisy occupants who ignored the quiet time hours. Since there was no campground host during our visit, there didn't appear to be anyone to address issues such as that.
Given the opportunity to stay at one of the NPS campgrounds, I would probably do that. However, if those are all full, as they often are, I would stay at Sol Duc Campground again.

Perfect site for a late arrival and early departure. Short walk to either restroom facility but far enough away where you can’t see them from the site. No good trees for a hammock at this one.

Take advantage of the hot springs at the resort. Great way to relax after a full day of hiking.
