About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

Wonderful old-growth forest setting (Loop B) with many other campers who share our enthusiasm for the outdoors. We soaked in the hot springs both days, unwinding after wonderful hiking to the waterfalls and the ancients. It would also be a convenient location to access Lake Crescent activities. Don't expect a phone connection, do expect a wonderful time.

We loved our campsite here. It was the quietest campground we stayed at during our trip, and it was gorgeous! Perfect spot in the park to access all of Olympic’s wonderful places, hikes, and sights.

Hot springs were very relaxing and the falls loop trails was wonderful.

The rv campground was not much different than a parking lot.

If I go back again I will use the regular dry camping area. Much more secluded and pretty environment.

Sol Duc is a lovely place. Campground is typical Park service. Disappointed that the site description didn’t accurately describe the narrow, slanted pull through site. Nearly hit a tree trying to pull through. Ended up backing in and using a big stack of leveling blocks

Absolutely love this campsite easy access to the hot springs and to the trailhead of multiple trails. Would definitely be returning, it was honestly so magical.

Do not reserve campsites 8 through 11!

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Sol Duc campground. I arrived to campsite 9 for my reservation and was immediately surprised to find that, unlike at most campsites where I can pull my vehicle into the site in relative privacy with plenty of space to get out/unpack/etc., I had to park directly next to a stranger about 40 ft from the site. Now, if this was the only issue I wouldn't complain. However, this was only the beginning. As my partner and I got out of our car, we realized that we couldn't tell where our campsite ended and our neighbors' began. As we inspected the area further, we realized that the only place that we could pitch out tent was *literally* 10 ft from the tent of our neighbors - eight men on some sort of bachelors trip. Literally everything we said would be heard by our neighbors and vice versa - not exactly a peaceful getaway.

At this point, my partner and I called it. We were going staying here for two nights, so we didn't want to deal with essentially sharing a campsite with strangers. So, we left the site and paid to reserve one of the five walk-up sites that were fortunately still available.

---
Also, while this doesn't affect my review of the campground, since it's unrelated, I thought I would let other visitors know that showers are not available for purchase at the "hot spring" (it's really just a pool with hot water and added minerals - there aren't even natural hot springs in the area?) which came as a surprise to my partner. To shower, you'll need to purchase access to the pool, which is $18. Seems like a missed opportunity to not provide cheap showers, but that's not the end of the world.
