About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

RV loop is terrible. There is no restrooms. Closest 5 minutes walk to the next loop. Each site should be gravel but it has a mud instead. You basically pay for parking with hook up and nothing else.

A pleasant campground with clean facilities, but the individual campsites are quite close together (unlike other parks in the US).

While I am grateful that I read reviews to be prepared for the limited parking available to site A022 - I did not expect to show up to my campsite hours before quiet hours… to discover that the neighbors in A021 decided to have not just their camper in the one spot available to A021… but also A022 spot as well, since the parking in those two spots alone it seems, are shared. However, our neighbors seemed to be hoping that others weren’t showing as well - their friends in A023 had to be kicked out prior to quiet hours by the rightful renter and their RV. The language barrier netted a very very angry foreigner and a very very firm native pacific northwesterner (me) - but it was quite the rough start and our neighbors the next night also unclear but much kinder and happy to allow us to park in our space. A022 is by far the smallest of the spaces and perhaps has a larger size tent a bit too close to the fire pit but is a perfect spot for a 4 man tent or those looking to pop up a tent on top of their SUV. Be warned, A021 and A022 seem to be the only spots in the park that the actual parking space is shared and can cause a BUNCH of confusion and hard feelings when people think the whole thing is theirs and it’s not.

The RV campground was a disappointment. It was more like a gravel parking lot and there were no washroom facilities whatsoever. At the campground itself.

We had a wonderful time at Sol Duc Hot Springs! In our opinion, some of the best hiking on the Olympic Peninsula is right here — we hiked up to Mink Lake this time and it was another great trip. The hot springs are always a treat after a good hike.

For the price of the room, we felt it could have been a little cleaner, but overall the experience was still very enjoyable. If you want to avoid the crowds, definitely go to the earliest soaking session they offer — it makes all the difference!

Very convenient location to camp, near the salmon cascades and great hiking. Also has its own trail to the hot springs resort. Some camp sites are better than others regarding space to spread out and privacy from other sites or the road.
