About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

There is more parking space than camping space. A lack of photo’s on the web hides this. The campsite is pleasant, the washrooms clean, the staff friendly. Trails to the hot springs are not well marked or even clear, with overgrowth, and they are muddy.

The campground was clean and fellow guest were well behaved and as quiet as one could expect in a campground setting. The camp host was courteous and friendly and made many rounds checking on campers and camp site conditions. She offered good safety tips regarding food accessible to wild creatures. I am a repeat camper at Sol Duc and it is for sure a majestic setting. The bathrooms and water stations were clean and orderly. The hot spring facilities are looking a bit long in the tooth, but still a nice place if you desire a good shower or some pool time.

This is a beautiful area of the park. But the RV campground is very tight. I read someone called it “an RV parking lot”. That describes it exactly. It might suit your needs to be in that area, but don’t expect the camping experience itself to be great.

I stayed in site 50 of loop B. Great location if you need several tents or have a really big tent. Relaxing, the sites seem private but this site buts against the trail that links loop b to loop an and the resort. It’s odd they don’t create a natural barrier for privacy. The bathrooms are clean with flush toilets - but no showers. A note on the community board indicates showers are available at the resort. The showers are for people using the hot springs. It’s like a locker room and while there are some cubicles there are no shower curtains.

We stayed at site 8&9 with 8 adults and 3 cars- two parked at 8, one at 9. You do not have great privacy between 8&9 but if you’re planning a group trip, it’s a great space. Site 8 has a little “cliff” trail to a secret little private access to the river which was really nice. Site 9 fits about 3 4-person tents and 8 fits 2 because it’s more slopey. Bathrooms are in close proximity which is also awesome. About a 7 min walk to the resorts for the pools/ showers. Recommend going at the first opening in the morning since there’s less people.

Each night, a different noisy group of campers were nearby and made for an unpleasant camping experience.
Having no toilet facilities in the RV campground was unexpected and disappointing.

Beautiful spot, facilities were great and the running water was strong. Having the trails right from the campground was lovely and it's helpful that they allow dogs.
