About Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

For up to date pool schedule information, please visit our website here. Pool access fees are $19 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for seniors over 62 years old per session. Towel rentals are $5. You may bring your own towel. Lockers are available, but locks are not provided. Located along the Sol Duc River, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails. In the late 1800s, settlers found the hot springs and called them "Sol Duc" a mispronunciation of the Quileute word for sparkling waters. The first hotel was built at Sol Duc in 1912 but burned down in 1916. The resort was rebuilt on a more modest scale in the 1920s, and completely rebuilt in the 1980s, which reflects how the resort looks today. Recreation.gov offers reservations for 76 of the resort's 82 tent sites and for all 17 of the resort's RV campsites, all nestled under a lush green canopy of old growth forest. Reservations for the remaining 20 tent sites are made directly at the campground as walk in reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended to guarantee a campsite. Multiple hiking trails are accessible directly from the property, with the most popular taking guests to spectacular Sol Duc Falls. Book tent and RV campsites here on Recreation.gov (using the buttons on the right to view sites and availability). Visit the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort website to book reservations for the cabins.

What Guests Are Saying

The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and ample hiking opportunities nearby. Many visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, semi-private campsites surrounded by nature. However, some noted concerns about noise from generators, a lack of amenities in the RV section, and the additional costs for using the hot springs, which could detract from the overall experience.

Campground was fantastic. Good sites, well maintained, quiet. We really enjoyed our stay here, hiking to Sol Duc Falls and soaking at the hot springs resort.

Sites are a decent size. No privacy. Had my neighbor pull in beside me on my door side in a motorhome. Pulled in front first. Set up and had her carpet on our site. So we wake up go outside look at her door and set up. Not nice. Park is amazing just not very good rv campground. And no showers, have to pay next door at resort. We decided to have a soak in the hotsprings and get a shower. Would go back to see the park but wouldn't stay at campground again.

We LOVED our stay here! Important to note: no reception, no dogs allowed on paths,no dogs allowed to be left in campsites, no bicycles allowed on paths, hot springs are 1.5hr paid time slots (that can be reserved online prior to arrival for about $20/person). You’ll need a Nat’l Parks pass to enter.

We camped in site 6, which was one of the closest sites to hot springs trail (which passes through the walk-in sites). It had privacy, old growth trees, and (mostly) flat parking… but so do almost all of the sites.

Fires are allowed (even when most of the rest of the state is on fire) but I recommend buying wood in Port Angeles for $5/bundle, because it’s $10/bundle at Sol Duc. There are very limited food/supplies at the little store, so show up with everything you need. We didn’t eat at the restaurant on site.

This campground is magical - we explored the trails, hung out by the river (don’t disturb the stones - there are salmon eggs!), soaked in the hot springs (but were surprised at the cost/short duration - thankfully walk-ins were available), and did day trips to Hurricane Ridge, Port Angeles, and Lake Crescent.

Overall stellar stay, but good to set expectations that there is no cell service, no WiFi (even though it said online you could purchase it at the resort - there was none available), and dogs/bikes are VERY limited in where they can be. Love this campground!

The grill was rusted so we didn’t feel comfortable cooking anything directly on it.

Not good for an rv. Site specifies up to 35’, and that is not true. We drive a 23’ rv, and were unable to level the rig, and tree branches are low in the driveway.
