Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground

I was disappointed that we drove 3 days to camp in a parking lot next to everyone else. Didn’t know these existed in a national park.

Nice spot to walk the Lovers Lane and the Sol Duc Fall trail in a loop (10km). The RV park is simple with electric and water.
Don't go to the hotsprings; it is nog worth it!

Nice campsite. I was in loop A #26.
*I had an issue with a mouse getting into my car. I left our food and trash bag in my car (as advised by the signs at the campsites) and saw a mouse under the hood and it actually got inside by the drivers seat. I strongly recommend that staff install bear boxes near each campsite to avoid having people store food in their cars. I have a camp setup in my car so unfortunately I had to take my car and sleep somewhere else, since there were clearly mice at our site who knew how to get into my car. Camp host sign said off duty so I wanted to report it here to hopefully find a solution if this has happened to other people.

Generally we had a great experience. Our campsite was not ideal as it was sloping which was unfortunate because it was a spacious site but more than half of the space was not suitable for pitching a tent and sleeping on. Having said that, we still loved sleeping in the rainforest. The toilets were extremely clean and well maintained. And it was a stone's throw from the Resort with the hot springs so driving there in the morning for our first dip was painless. I'd come back again! Thank you.

The campground itself is actually pretty nice. The facilities are clean and the sites are semi private, which is honestly better than most campgrounds.

But then the fees start rolling in.

There’s the campground fee, then an entrance fee, and then if you want to use the hot springs it’s another $20 per person. By the time I was done paying fees, I half expected someone to hand me a wristband and point me toward the roller coasters.

This place really seems to think it’s Disneyland. Respectfully, it is not Disneyland. I am sleeping in a tent on the ground.

I’m all for paying for nice facilities, but when I’m sitting in a sleeping bag listening to a raccoon rummage through the bushes, I’m not sure I should also feel like I’ve purchased a VIP experience.

The campground is nice. The hot springs are nice. The fees are… ambitious.

It was a beautiful location. Just the right size for our tent. The bathrooms were clean. Can’t say enough great things about this!

Medium sized space, site is somewhat private, covered by brush. Very close to the bathroom but wasn’t loud. Plenty of space for the tent.

Was expecting more of a campground. This was a gravel lot with hookups. Nearest bathroom is 1/4 mile walk away (literally, I tracked it), which was not advertised. We have a small trailer with no bathroom, so this was less than convenient.
On the plus side, it was a short walk to the resort and hot springs, and close to hiking trails. Personally, I would have rather stayed in the actual campground up the road as those were really nice sites near the river and were surrounded by trees.

Nice camp ground with access to good hiking

Stayed 3 nights in B loop, site 67. The site is split level with a parallel parking spot and then a couple of steps up to the picnic bench and tent area. We have a roof top tent and it made placement a bit harder. The site had some privacy at the tent level, but of course the parking spot is right on the road. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as there is good hiking right from the campground.

General notes on the camp ground

- Bathrooms
- Clean and well stocked.

- Water faucets for potable water were clean.

- Noise
- Some road noise from the road above the campground, but mostly in the morning as people are going up the Sol Duc Falls trailhead.
- Some loud people a bit past the quiet time, but that can happen anywhere.

- The camp host was very friendly and helpful.
