What Guests Are Saying

Iron Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting among old-growth trees and proximity to the Cispus River, providing a tranquil and scenic experience. Campers appreciate the well-maintained facilities, clean restrooms, and spacious, private campsites. However, access to the campground can be challenging due to road conditions and closures, which some visitors found frustrating.

Beautiful campsites with generous spaces in between each site. Our family loves coming to this camp ground. Fun trails to walk & the paved roads are perfect for bikes.

Beautiful campground set in old growth conifers. We loved the trail which rings the CG and also the river access. The sites are a bit small though and there were no cooking waste water disposal areas.

We try to make this a annual family camping trip. We have our favorite spots in the park and love to spend time walking around the grounds during the day and having campfire stories at night. With no electric and no cell service it makes for great family time.

All the sites were pretty big and we didn’t feel like we were too close to our neighbors.

My husband and I stayed at Iron Creek Campground again this August. It's one of our favorite campgrounds. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and selected a campsite situated on the right (creek) side of Loop B. This time we looked at Loop A, but the campsites didn't seem as private, and a couple of RVs had their generators running. My husband uses a walker, so we chose site #38 in Loop B, which was close to a restroom, which was rarely used there was a trash receptacle and potable water across from our campsite. The camp hosts keep the restrooms immaculate and well supplied. Pretty much all of the campsites in Loop B are large and private, with enormous evergreen trees and varying degrees of shade. We brought our Siberian Husky along, and she enjoyed cooling off in the creek. The creek can be accessed on the Northeast end of the campground via the trail alongside the creek and the water is calmer there. Do be cautious on the trail along the creek, especially with children. It has a steep bank with rapids below. We hiked on the trails and saw some magnificent old growth trees 10-feet plus in diameter, and we didn't see another soul. Our stays at Iron Creek have always been very relaxing and peaceful. On one occasion we decided to drive up to Mt St. Helens to the Johnston Ridge Observatory which is 1:41 each way from Randle. It made for a long day, but it was truly astonishing to see the area as it is now. We hadn't seen the area since 1974.

Lots of trees separating each campsite, super clean bathrooms, loop c is closest to the river. No showers (which it says) but easy access to water pumps. The hike to Angel Falls nearby is beautiful.

Really excellent campground and campsite! The bathrooms were some of the cleanest we had ever seen. Our campsite was a single, but still plenty big to pitch two tents. Going down to the river was a great experience as well- refreshing and beautiful.

We LOVED the beauty of the old growth forest here-- HUGE quiet trees, moss, and a lovely trail to a gorgeous jade green river rushing over rocks in a deep green forested valley, water ouzels, and peaceful privacy. A great campground! Vault toilets, which probably accounts for some of the privacy and lack of crowds. :)
