What Guests Are Saying
Takhlakh Lake Campground offers stunning scenery, with breathtaking views of Mt. Adams and a well-maintained lake. The hiking trails and campground facilities are generally clean, and the camp hosts receive praise for their friendliness and diligence. However, issues such as a lack of potable water, occasional overcrowding, and recent management challenges can detract from the experience, especially during peak times.

I mostly enjoyed the experience except that I brought my small boat and the boat ramp was unusable. I recommend that someone repair the lower section of the boat ramp so that someone can launch a small boat with electric motor.

The scenery is unbelievable, and the hiking in the area excellent. Be sure to go up to Taklakh Meadows and take the high route, the views are fantastic. The campground is large and sites are well laid out, but it was very crowded when I was there (a weekend in July). most sites had multiple famililies, It was loud (One family projected movies on a sheet they hung up) and unfortunately due to recent staffing cuts at the forest service, there was not a camp host on site which lead to issues like garbage piling up and no toilet paper in the restrooms. Things go bad fast when you have 250 people in a campground and no toilet paper. Probably the most scenic campground in the Gifford Pinchot forest however.

The campground was peaceful and beautiful. The vault toilets were nice and clean. The path around the lake was convenient to our campsite, and we enjoyed swimming at the day use area. I hope to return. No potable water is on site, so make sure to bring your water with you!

We had made reservations. When we got to the campground, there were sites we liked better that were open. The campground hosts would not change us without having to sacrifice the cost of the site we'd reserved and paying anew for the new site.

This is a beautiful camp ground and lake. It is well maintained and has many nice private sites to camp. There is a wonderful trail around the lake and into stunning woods. We will camp here again.

Takhlakh lake is stunning. We had a site on the lake with lots of room. We had blue sky, sunshine and cool air. The hike around the lake and to the meadow was fabulous! Gorgeous scenery, plant life (my passion) and trail in excellent condition. Campground host was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this site.
