Louella Cabin

Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay 🙂 The kids had a blast.

Had a lovely two nights at the Louella Cabin. Place was a little musty and could probably use a new mattress in the main bedroom, but the charm is undeniable. It's secluded, so keep that in mind...but the history collected about the cabin and surrounding area is super fascinating (there's a binder inside the cabin with history/details on nearby trails). Probably not the ideal vacation for everyone but perfect for the person (or family, couple, etc.) that knows what they're getting into...and doesn't mind a rustic atmosphere/getting away from service for a bit. It's definitely somewhere in the liminal space between camping and a hotel.

The new flush toilet was a welcome surprise and I felt good knowing the money I spent on staying here would be going into future restoration efforts. Happy to support the National Park Service in any way I can in this day and age.

There's a little swimming hole with a rope swing just down the road from the cabin, past Dungeness Forks Campground (under the second bridge) that was also a welcome surprise to cool off/rinse off a bit. Hope someone sees this and gets to add that to their trip!

I will definitely be back to this explore the area a bit more...and if Louella Cabin is available, I won't hesitate to return!

This is our fourth time staying at the Luella cabin. We really enjoyed all the upgrades, like the flushing toilet and the hot water. It’s the perfect distance from every activity you can imagine in the Sequim/Port Angeles area and is driving distance to Olympic national Park.

We had a lovely time staying in this cabin and exploring some of the nature in the Olympic National Park nearby. Despite what the information on Recreation.gov says, this cabin does have a flushing toilet inside, rather than an outhouse. So we were pleasantly surprised to find this amenity. All of the appliances worked quite well, and we were very comfortable during our stay.

We had a great stay at Louella cabin with our 3 kids. A great base camp for hiking in the area. Quiet and private location. Not luxurious but more comfortable than a tent. Stove and fridge work well. Recommend bringing your own pots/pans/plate/utensils. Would visit again. .

The location was ideal for exploring the breathtaking sights of Olympic National Park. We had easy access to stunning destinations like Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, and Sol Duc, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the park's natural beauty.

If you're looking for a memorable getaway that combines adventure with comfort, this cabin is an absolute must-visit!
